Only just set up the NGA in Werribee, so it'll take some time to recruit players that fit the criteria.
Also, there's going to be changes to the zones soon, so we might get a regional area as well.

Zeke Uwland, Dylan Patterson, Beau Addinsall & potentially Kalani White (Dees F/S too) in this years draft. All top 20 prospects and that's before the academy has played a game. I'm lead to believe that there at least a couple more who have draftable traits.

That's on top of Lombard, Walter, Read, Rogers, Davies, B.Uwland in recent years. That is a ridiculous amount of talent that's just about guaranteed to go to one club.

Then you have Brisbane who are going to rebuild their whole midfield off the back of F/S and academy players. Ashcroft x 2, Daniel Annable and Jaspa Fletcher.

Sydney also look like they are going to be kissed on the dick again this year with Noah Chamberlain, Max King (who both look like absolute guns) and Lachlan Carmichael.

The whole thing needs to be scrapped. It's so unfair, and makes it near impossible for a team like ours to pull itself out of the hole.

Nothing to see here RF08, move along… Absolute joke, growing the game my a*se, picking the eyes out of it is more the truth. Equalisation is not on the AFL agenda, bonuses linked to participation numbers in Eastern markets.

Yeah look I don't mind Gold Coast getting a leg up with some top talent to improve, but this is now getting a bit ridiculous, there does need to be some changes to the draft, it isn't at a stage where we've got it down pat and I feel there is going to be some minor changes here & there over the next 10 years before this gets to a stage where we can say that's fair for everyone and about the best we can do!

I've mentioned this kid before, but I think he'll be high on our target list.

First game of the SANFL under 18's and he had 21 disposals, 8 marks, and 3 clearances playing as both a key forward and ruck. Despite being relatively lean at this stage he really throws himself at the contest and loves breaking packs.

Personally I think now's the time we might look at abstaining from a draft somewhat, other than a few mid late picks.

We are entering a very interesting period prior to Tassie, where I think the main value will be at the trade table.

2 x R2 picks and our future picks (excluding our R1) is a good start for targeting some mid range role players at the trade table.

Another option might be trading our F1 to get back in the mid stage of this draft.

I think there's a few sides that might blow have to their lists up prior to the Tassie inclusion. Close watches on the next 2 trade periods imo.

Im looking at Melbourne, Carlton, Essendon, Port etc.

Dogs will likely use JUH to reload somewhat. Can see Butters going there and that might be enough for Port to do a mini reset. As they will get whatever the Dogs get for JUH + extras.

Fremantle still have a young core, so wont do it, but they have a heap of young Victorian players that would appeal to us if they wanted to pivot in any way.


Merrett, Durham, Nic Martin, Ridley - I'd move for in a heartbeat for if made available. They all suit some of our list gaps really well imo.

Weitering is the other I'd be keeping a close eye on. He could easily be a Lake/May style pickup for someone. I can't see Carlton trading Curnow, but you never know. McKay I'd say would definitely be on the table, but not one I'd be interested in. Weitering is the one from Carlton that I'd love to pry out. He's a pure stopper that would partner well with Comben.


The Dees will lose Pickett, then the watch will be on Petracca.

Oliver is back to his absolute best based on the first two rounds. He kept them in it yesterday. Whilst we don't really need him and he's clearly got a screw loose, there is the obvious link with Jy and the guy can plainly football.... If it's at a discount because of his contract and last 18 months, you have to be in it.

Lever, Petracca and Fritsch are the same age as Maynard, which is often overlooked. All of them are all still excellent footballer and the types contenders add... Clarko did. Gibson, Guerra, Lake, Burgoyne, Dew etc.

Chandler was incredible on the weekend. We had interest last year in Viney, but he's a year or two older than I'd want, unless he came in a Jordan Lewis style deal.

There's a heap of viable senior players from the Demons I think we'd be interested in if they blew up the list.
