2025 NBA All Star Discussion

For the first time, the NBA All-Star Game will feature a mini-tournament with four teams and three games. Two teams will meet in one semifinal (Game 1), and the remaining two teams will meet in the other semifinal (Game 2). The winning teams from Game 1 and Game 2 will advance to face each other in the championship (Game 3). For each game, the winner will be the first team to reach or surpass 40 points.

The fourth team will be the winning team from the championship game of the Castrol Rising Stars, the annual showcase of top first- and second-year NBA players and NBA G League standouts, which will be played on Friday, Feb. 14 during NBA All-Star 2025. TNT analyst and WNBA legend Candace Parker will serve as honorary GM of the Rising Stars champion, known as Team Candace.


The Draft is about to commence via the NBA TNT former players - Kenny, Shaq and Chuck. The draft will comprise of the following players:

I love basketball and I'd still choose watching any sport in the comm game over whatever the all star game has become. It is completely pointless.

At the end of the day the All Star Game was a baseball invention and everything else was an attempt to copy it. There's a reason MLB hasn't changed the ASG format for 90 years while other leagues have to try and shake it up to cover up how much it sucks. It works in a less physically strenuous sport like baseball or (T20) cricket but anything else it's either a low effort shitfest or huge injury risk if you decide to put more effort in.

Just like the Indigenous All Stars AFL match they should all just relegate it to a pre-season curiosity.
