Big Ten floating idea for 24- or 28-team CFP, sources say

While the idea is in the very early stages, the Big Ten's proposal for a 24- or 28-team College Football Playoff eliminates conference title games and offers a large number of auto bids for all four power leagues.

For example, in the 28-team model, the Big Ten and SEC would each get seven auto bids while the ACC and Big 12 would each receive five. There would be two auto bids for the non-Power 4 conferences and two at-large teams.

Look how generous 2 bids shared between the 6 non P4 conferences. You know the SEC would vote for this

It would finally kill the sport, at that point might as well move to a Fox division and ESPN division in the power 4 and turn it into a pro farm league with a salary cap

I love the obsession with uneven numbers for tournaments, 8/16/32 all straight forward approaches.... but always trying to jimmy in byes for little benefit. It cooked the playoffs last season with rankings forced seeds and byes.

True Freshman Bear Bachmier named the starter at BYU where he transferred a couple of months ago after starting spring QB3 for stanford. His borther Tiger also followed him. We play them week 2.

Ben Gulbranson the Oregon St transfer won the starting job over Elijah Brown for Stanford. but im expecting Brown to start a few games

Now the ACC just need to figure out a way to get 9 and then everyone has moved to 9 game conference. I guess some ND games could count if they dont want to add a new member.

Then when everyone is playing 9 games they can finally move to making a rule where you cant play FCS/low quality G5 schools in November

Probably but I have no idea why anyone would give us Kentucky when any Georgia fan will tell you our 3 biggest SEC rivals are Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina. Even the SCar fans will tell you we are one of their 3.

I think the Big10 did the protected games better. 12 games where everyone has at least one and some teams have 2. Where all the other games will play a home and home at least and no more then 3 times in a 5 year span. But they Big10 also has 2 extra teams right now
