Surprised this hasn't been brought up, but in this same game USC subbed in QB3, who usually wears #7, in with their Punters jersey, #80, who then converted a fake punt on 4th down.

Surely this is cheating???

It's a strange one. Players sharing and changing numbers isn't new. Players will change numbers in almost every game where college you can have over 100 players on the roster. But apparently its only illegal becayse another player already played the same position with the same number in the game. According to one of thr rules guys on Fox.

Either way its a loophole that will be closed in the offseason. I didn't think it was illegal till Mike Pereria said it. Sketchy and against the spirit of the sport sure. About as dodgy as you can get. Bush league, but Lincoln Riley is fighting for his job so he will stoop as low as it gets
