The NRMA Insurance Five Test series between Australia and India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was the most watched Test series of all-time across Foxtel Group platforms Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Foxtel Go and Foxtel Now.

The series was up 47% on the 2023/24 ‘Summer of Cricket’ Tests, and up 20% on the last Australia-India Test series in Australia in 2020/21.

The growth was driven by the New Years Test in Sydney which was the most watched individual Test of all-time, as well as record streaming audiences which were up 73% on the 2023/24 ‘Summer of Cricket’ Tests and 121% up on the 2020/21 series vs India.

Across the 2024/25 Test series, more than 1.4 billion minutes were streamed on Kayo Sports, Foxtel Go and Foxtel Now, making it the most streamed of all time.

Other record-breaking highlights from the series include:

  • Most watched individual Test Day ever – Day 3 of the Sydney Test
  • Most streamed Test Day ever – Melbourne Test Day 1
  • Most watched session ever – Sydney Test Day 3 Session 2
  • Most streamed session ever – Sydney Test Day 3 Session 2
  • Four of the Top 5 most watched sessions ever

2 or 3 decades ago baseball used to have a half decent following in Perth. Live games on Channel 9 and some decent turnouts (up to 10k) at Parry field. Then the Belmont council bulldozed it for housing and the Heat were sent to woop woop. Never really recovered from that.

Total Attendances to the Australian Baseball League by team. Each team had 20 home games. Comprised of 5 home series (one per each other team), with each series comprising 4 games over that weekend.

Average crowd per game:
1,510 Melbourne
760 Perth
700 Adelaide
569 Brisbane
563 Canberra
517 Sydney

Being mindful of fluctuations per game due to double headers on Saturdays only having one crowd count, or low crowds on Thursday nights etc

Individual crowds can be found by looking at individual games here: https://theabl.com.au/scores/

Got an email. , 75% of the tickets for the Hurricanes match tmw have been sold.

I would go....but starting at 7:30pm on a weeknight. A Hard pass. I wish sporting organizations would start their night games a little bit earlier.

Fully sold out just before the game.

Crowd was about 13.1K, with some noticeable blue seats in parts of the stadium.

From Brent Costelloe on facebook

For those wondering about Ninja Stadium’s capacity:
17,500 = Total
12,500 = Seats
5,000 = Hill (could fit more but CT want it to be comfortable)
You lose about 2,500 to broadcast/sight screens
15,000 were put up for sale
Crowd last night = 13,132
The difference of 1,868 last night can be put down to:
1) Some members not turning up
2) According to Cricket Tasmania… Cricket Australia had an early bird buy one get one free offer… so some people might’ve received an extra ticket they didn’t use…

Sounds about right.

Alas, some people in the state of Tasmania don't really understand this concept, especially the fact that Ninja does not hold 19.5K

13k at engie tonight for the thunder final. Move them to Canberra or fold them? The giants got those calls repeatedly on Bigfooty and in the media, when they got 19k to their final at engie.

Did anybody that watched the bbl on ch 7 notice much cross promotion of the upcoming footy season? It's really the perfect time with sports fans all across Australia tuned in to promote the game, something that should be an advantage for the afl, if utilised. I watch bbl through fox, so am not sure.

Attendances at this season Australian Baseball League finals series.

Perth and Canberra beat Adelaide and Sydney respectively in 2 games in the best of three Semi Final series, and then Canberra beat Perth in 2 games in the best of three Championship Series so there was never a need for a game 3.

Perth Heat have now played in 5 of the last 6 Championship Series and has lost them all. Losing once to Brisbane, once to Melbourne, twice to Adelaide and once to Canberra.

Perth really seem to like their summer sports. High crowds and interest relative to the rest of the competition in baseball, cricket and basketball.

Summer nights really are nice here, very conducive to going out and doing stuff.

Meanwhile at AFL house, they fixture games in February and March in the middle of the afternoon.
