I would have gone. 3 to Andrews and 2 to Bailey. Would've found it hard to split Ashcroft and Fletcher.

Not sure there was a real standout and a lot of good players. Not sure there is a wrong opinion, could go a lot of different ways. Andrews had close to a perfect game in my eyes, couldn't do anything wrong. What a star

Honestly a fair call, he provided impact as soon as he came on. Was clean around the contest and provided class, run that was missing to break the game open, which was a stalemate at the half.

That was a risk worth taking and paid off with another cup to add to the Lions cabinet

The forwards can’t do what they do without the midfield giving them supply. The number of possessions is a by-product of that.

W Ashcroft pretty much ran around on his own all day.

12 touches and 3 goals in the last qtr when the game was pretty much over.

Plenty of Lions deserved votes before Hugh.

Can’t really fault anything Fagan has done, the AFLCA definitely made the right call with their coach of the year award!

I had him for the medal but cashed out ten minutes before the siren as I thought Ashcroft had it sewn up.

Id say Hodge got it closest. McCluggage was huge despite the heavy tag.

Last 20 or so mins of the game was absolute junk time. Reckon the Clug votes were too seduced by his inflated stats at the final sire.

Andrews was a brick wall down back. Bailey was hugely influential in the first three quarters but wayward kicking for goal hurt him. Fletcher a very solid game all game.

Andrews deserved it imo. Repelled so many Geelong entries. But often times it’s a midfielder’s award

3 goals in the 4th but McCluggage led the charge in the 4th which buried Geelong.

Like Dusty did most of his damage in the 4th in one of his NS.

I had Fletcher as 2nd best behind Ashcroft.

McCluggage too - what a gun. Safe to say he worked his way through the tag. 26 touches and 4 goals from the midfield. Imagine if the media's anointed favourites had returned those numbers.

I thought Ashcroft Fletcher and Zorko were the 3 best although Neale was probably the standout player on the ground in the 60 odd minutes he played.
Thought Humphries was Geelong's best, won a lot of contests and used the ball well
