they will for the foreseeable future with the NFL making over $13b a year from TV rights and then all the other forms of revenue. and will likely opt out of the current TV deals in 2029 to get even more for the TV rights with streamers/tech going after them.
the last 5 years the cap has gone up almost $100m
QB contracts bubble will burst soon, but top WR and Edge will keep going up same with OT and CB.

Unless Parsons gets hurt and falls off the cliff this will always be seen as a bad trade for Dallas.

Every single thing the Eagles have done this off season has been about making sure we've got the money to lock in Jalen Carter immediately when he's due. And it will seems steep, and by about two years in he'll be on a mid market contract.

Meant more that there should be a kind of tier system per position, like a rookie payscale. So top Edge players all get say 40m for that era of cap. Inflation and increase in total annual cap can allow that to rise but in 2025, Crosby, Watt, Garrett, Parsons all get say 40m, they cant keep trying to one-up their peers

The longer you wait to extend a key player the more it costs because other players get deals done. and every top player wants the contract thats top of that position.

Good cap guys have about 5 spread sheets for what things will look like if they can get a star free agent or trade years away and run cap scenarios 5 years down the line so they know how much to spend and when guys will need to be restructured or cut.

Im not sure i ever called him or anyone on a rookie deal the most overpaid player in the league. Ive called him lazy at times because well he has been lazy when things are not going his way and isnt motivated. which is a concern now that he has been paid. Parsons wont have a full game till either the Browns or Dallas games because of all the missed time in camp. will be on a snap count week 1 and week 2 being a short week TNF game will also be on a snap count. and getting hurt will be a concern like it always is for hold outs.

Overhyped perhaps. but that's because every Dallas player is overhyped given all the media attention on the team.
He is a top 5 edge in the league, but has had a history of going missing against better teams/playoffs [like Rodgers with his playoff stats where people had over and over called him an overrated player. and im sure if i went through your post history i would find you saying it] but its not like he is the greatest edge in football history. Its A missing piece from the Packers team being a legit contender because of the lack of pass rush we have had. But its not like he will carry the team to a ring and have a 20 sack season with DPOTY.
But also its banter, you always add mayo on to banter. otherwise you and the eagles boys would be having a tea party every time Dallas and Phily play
