I feel like you’ve never watched Cameron really play if you think the bolded is true. He’s absolutely torn games apart and has regularly gotten 18+ disposals and a bag of goals over the course of his career. He’s easily been one of the higher possession key forwards of the last decade.
Including against us multiple times!

I was watching the game on TV with my son, and when Hipwood marked, I said "He'll miss this", and sure enough.
I always want him to play against us because you can rely on him to turn in a stinker.
I then explained to my 11 year old what a flat track bully is.

Nailed it. Should be a picture of him in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, if that even exists at this point. I'll settle for Wikipedia.

Good luck to him I guess, get paid and set up your future young fella. It helps us to have an overrated never-was on a flag rival's books after all.

But if he was in the black and white and his money was coming out of our cap, I'd be livid with so many of the efforts he puts in.

Better disappearing act than David Copperfield.

Commentators passing off this just as an "off night " for Geelong.

But i think this is false for two reasons:

1) brisbane has exposed what Geelong depend upon in terms of their ball movement forward, and how to hinder it. Don't think it hinges on Dangerfield and Cameron directly, but on the impact of Smith and Close, who Brisbane nullified tonight.

2) Geelong reacted to this massive challenge by capitulating (something alien to us).
I noticed that and i just laughed. Home Deck, 2nd on the ladder, Dangerfields 350th game, that wasn't an off night, they never looked in it, the Lions outplayed them in every way possible and just broke their spirits. The Lions studied and planned for this game and the cats expected the win.

And Oli as the sub. :D :D :D Came on and had no impact.

And i agree, nullify Smith and Close had a domino effect, let Cameron kick his 4-5, he's very hard to stop. But maybe if Dangerfield could kick straight and had some thing resembling an impact on the game, they might of had a chance.

I enjoyed that game a little more than what i should of.

Result aside I can't help but feel like Geelong probably didn't anticipate there being as many Brisbane fans, neutral fans or just precious "don't tell me what to wear" types because to my eyes the whole attempt to copy the USA "white out" concept appeared to fall a bit flat last night. Unless that's just me...? Curious to see if they'll try it again at any stage.

Most things fall flat in Geelong

Looked shit. Ive seen NBA games with full buy in and it is intimidating for the opposition. Last night looked pathetic

Yeah, can't imagine the better Ashcroft would have any impact if he copped Naicos levels of opposition attention.

Yeah the comparison that’s driven by media narrative on the fact they’re both f/s brothers is short changing Nick by quite a bit. I rate Will highly but he hasn’t shown half of what Nick has at this stage.

Obviously his biggest claim to fame is the Norm Smith, but he got that against poor opposition on the day and a front running, defensively unaccountable midfield. Now consider Nick’s performance was in the highest quality footy we’ve seen in a GF since 2011 and look at the comparison:

W Ashcroft:
30d, 9 CP, 1 goal, 11 SIs, 436m gained, 3 tackles.

N Daicos:
29d, 11 CPs, 1 goal and 1 GA, 8 SIs, 444 m gained, 4 tackles.

Bobby kicked 4, took a speccie and a great run down HTB tackle so he’s a deserving winner but as far as midfield performance goes, Nick’s doesn’t get the media recognition it deserves.

Take that out of the equation and it’s more logical to compare Will to Josh at this stage than anything else.

Hope it’s nothing serious for Weitering. Really respect him.

But that said, no issues if he misses our game in 2 weeks.
