We proved earlier in the season that we can beat them. Our last loss came after a five day break.

At our best we can defeat any side.

You're disrespecting other teams badly.

It's obvious if Pies play their best they can beat anyone.
But so could Hawks....

In fact, anyone in the top 9 could beat the other if they played their best.

The fact is... it's more likely that only one team will get to play their best in the Grand Final...

Addition of Gunston was huge for them... Battle and Barass were cherry on top.


In truth... everytime the ball goes inside hawks forward 50.... I am surprised if Gunston Chol or Watson don't touch it amd get a shot for goal. Yes I'm scared of them.

Most of their forward entries were with little pressure.

We didn't beat gws in the 2023 prelim because of structure and system, we beat them in an ugly scrappy affair where it took non-systematic acts of pressure and 1 percenters to scrap across the line.

My point is... Pies aren't guaranteed to play their best if the other team's plan is to stop Pies playing their best and they succeed.

It's not a series.... where the best most balance team win out after multiple games and wins because they adjusted.

This is one off, whomever turns up on the day wins.... it's not guaranteed players play their best at any given time.

My point is, Hawks are getting momentum and if they win against Geelong and Pies are fortunate to beat Suns or Lions, Hawks will have all the confidence and talent to beat the Pies. Hawks are not there by luck...

Edit. Pies need to be perfect to beat a rolling Hawks, Lions, Suns or Cats...
Can't rely on luck and hope other team has a bad day.

Hawks belted us and Melbourne and then were heading into their final game against brisbane with all the momentum, and what happened?

They lost to a good side in brisbane.

Hawks can be broken down by a good coaching staff and a smart experienced team that can exploit their inherent weakness.

They have beaten a gws team that has developed a habit of choking in finals and a crows team that gave up.

If you watched the game last night, the crows left so many goals scoring opportunities on the table because of their atrocious execution and decision making. A Collingwood or Geelong would have cut them up last night.

The Crows were top on false pretences. Double ups against West Coast North and Port gifted them three extra wins.

Add that to how the whole club , supporters included, handled the Rankine case and their cards were marked.

I can only hope and pray that Geelongs soft draw will also count against them when it matters, although obviously they are a better run club than Adelaide.

I can't believe anyone gave Adelaide a chance. Their season ended when they realised that they are average and that was when they used that ridiculous flood against us a few weeks ago. Heavy flooding is a sign of weakness in modern football and their midfield is non existant. GC will beat Brisbane tonight and we will play hawthorn in the Gf. I could feel the whole of Geelong collectively squeeze their butt cheeks when the siren went last night. BTW, the Pies will smash hawthorn in the GF

Decided sleep was more important than watching Hawthorn make it to a prelim. Only saw first quarter.

While I get enjoyment that Adelaide didn’t even win a final, despite being so bitter than Rankine was going to miss a grand final (gotta get there first), I don’t enjoy that Hawthorn is 2025s Carlton of 2023. Lingering about, making it to a prelim and the real threat that we would meet them in the Grand Final should we make it.

I now want Geelong to win. We at least complete against Geelong. Hawthorn we go to water and let them bully us, too often!

Geelong v Hawthorn should be a massive Prelim. Can only hope they belt the crap out of one another. Hawthorn usually play thug footy.

Anyway don’t want to get ahead of myself. Have to still beat the winner of tonight’s game. But now, we would have to beat one of our bogie sides to win the flag.

Against Geel we controlled the game but were unlucky Crisp missed a shot on goal to win the game. They needed a Herculean last QTR by Danger to win.
