The ants have invaded the picnic blanket and eaten all the crumbs.I think he really is a sandwich short of a picnic.
He was listed on the team sheet, but whether he actually “played” as such is debatable.Did Dangerfield play?

We’ve made three of the last four Preliminary finals and won a flag.I wonder why we can’t put together an era of dominance like some other teams. Can snag a flag every so often but never get a good run at some League dominance.
Cameron is aware he was out there although whether he was playing for Geelong or Brisbane is debatableDid Dangerfield play?

Similar to Geelong who seem to be Teflon coated when it comes to criticism! We’ve made three of the last four Preliminary finals and won a flag.
They’re like new money. Not accustomed to success until it was suddenly thrust upon them. For me the worst type of Lions fan is the old Fitzroy type. They stick it up us for moving past us as a club. Where would they be if the AFL had not created a superteam with that early noughties version of Brisbane? And then the AFL stepped in again when the hit rock bottom. Such an entitled fan base. They will be a dynastic team which is something in our life time we will never manage.
Fagan also has a lot more confidence in his younger playersSadly he couldn't get his office in order. What amazes me is at the start of the 2024 there were rumours of the Brisbane lions having extra activities outside their household. That didn't phase the team and they went on to win the 2024 and 2025 flag. If we were faced with the same challenges, it would have divided the club. As for us, we imploded this year along with the contract issues at the best time of the year, the eve of finals.
True, but in many respects that confidence is not so much internal character strength but exclusive access to elite talent that other clubs are denied.Fagan also has a lot more confidence in his younger players

Not to mention with Daniher retiring and hipwood injure opened the door for Morris. Fagan played a cooked day over gallop all season. The kid puts on display everything that can go wrong with the social media generation.
Entitled, petulant, and self-excusing.

The Hawthorn revisionist history leaves so much to be desired, before this so called “rise” Hawthorn finished, 16th, 14th, 13th, 15th, 9th. They were always going to have a tonne of cap space and low draft picks coming through.Geelong were clearly better than the GF suggested. They put away Hawthorn summarily.
The GF did make clear that Brisbane has major talent across every line, and unimaginable depth. Their sports science team is likewise clearly brilliant in that this clear differential between Brisbane and the rest has only become fully apparent over the last 2 weeks or so (against us and now against Geelong). The way they smashed us in the 3rd quarter after our brilliant 2nd quarter made me start to sit up and wonder, and now the gf yesterday has confirmed I think this realisation.
Clearly the AFL has engineered the rise of a monstrously strong team in Qld, either GC or the Lions, by giving them exclusive access to an entire pool of talent in the northern academies that no one else has access to. What will become critical for us in this environment is to recruit really high recruiting talent along with that in sports science (which I believe we have)
I think Hawthorn, unfortunately, has demonstrated outstanding skill in the sphere of recruiting talent and list management. We will need to emulate these skills to have a chance against the interstate monsters that the AFL is creating as part of its commercial profit interests nation wide.
