Not too fussed about the game, was a good intense hit out. Bit sloppy but always going to be the case.

Fletcher looked great, Answerth refusing to be dropped. Hipwood moving well. Defence a little iffy with Harris being a late out, but thought they adapted well after Adelaide’s 2nd quarter assault. Levi looked real good once he got used to the speed in the 2nd half.

Unfortunately no closer to an answer on the forwards. Morris and Gallop both weren’t spectacular in the forward 50/in front of goal; but both were applying good pressure and moving up the ground. Day looked okay in the ruck but did literally nothing outside of that; so I’m really not thrilled about him.

Joyce’s goatee is almost as bad as whatever the **** is going on with Ashcroft’s facial hair in the premiership doco
I couldn't recognise Will tonight. What's he done with his head ? To be fair the bandage didn't help.

I was quite impressed with Morris . He looks a leaner and stronger. Got into good position to get his hands on the ball but most of the time it just slipped out. Physically and the way he was moving I'm optimistic he'll be a bigger asset in 2025.

Not sure. I'm not ruling him out on the basis of a practice match but he just looks a bit slow and slow to react. Tbh Gallup looked a completely different proposition in contests.
Could not have been further off the pace, I would play Smith and I really don’t rate him at this point. It’s a worry.

Day did look very slow. Lumbering forward type is not a good replacement for Daniher. I’m thinking we play Fort out of the goal square and use him to give Oscar the chop out in the ruck. Fort certainly looks to be more mobile than Day.

Fletch looks like he has gone up a level, looks strong and fit. Day cannot play next week.
On that performance I 100% agree. Very slow around the ground. If that’s what he’s offering, Smith plays ahead of him.

Obviously a practice match, but Joyce is nowhere near AFL standard. He has very limited idea of where to position himself despite having exposure to senior football for a while now, and hasn’t improved any of his deficiencies. I’d play Brain next week ahead of him for Starce and get Lester back on Cameron.

Levi plays round one. He looks all class. McKenna looked noticeably fitter and the run and carry showed. Zorko looked to have lost none of his zip.

Overall a solid hit out.

Fort's recovering from a hammy.

Smith looked pretty good in his brief cameo, stinks that we start our season so much earlier than the VFL and he won't get much of a hitout for a while.

Alot of dropped balls very humid and slippery up here tonight.

**** it Smith v Smith in a battle of the cats. Bailey may have ice in his veins, but Henry has Nonna's spaghetti in his stomach and is ready baby!

Charlie has become the most unselfish player - great pressure and does some great passes to advantage

Answerth intensity was great

Fletcher has gone up a level, no way is he getting dropped. Very impressive

Ty defensive effort was impressive. As was morris

Will and Levi move the same, I can't pick who it is sometimes. They will confuse fans umpires and brownlow vote

Linc looked at home

Bailey was solid, with the odd clanger

Lohman is fun.

Adelaide shove opposition constantly - they are going to get pinged during the season.

Starcevich with an interrupted preseason and now a concussion is not great for any player going into a season.
Day & Will patched up with headbands, but they should be okay.
Oscar struggled but needed the hit out.
Levi did not look like his shoulder was giving him any problems in his first AFL type game. Plays opening round.
Linc got through the game so a positive for him.
Gallop first AFL type game and he showed glimpses of what's to come.
Hippy showed no sign of a groin injury so hope he pulled up well.

McCluggage, Raynor & Cameron were quiet, but we should not be worried about that.

Day has copped it on here and he did not do a great deal.
I think selectors still give him first crack over Smith and Gallop or Fort if his hammy is okay.
Find out next week.

I agree with sentiments here regarding Day, if Fort is recovering from a hammy. Perhaps he needs to get some miles into his legs, but he looks to be slow and little value around the ground. Then again, it was a practice match and the season is long.
