Listening to Simmo on SEN WA,
He said, when predicting our first 6 games of this year..

" We rated the Crows very highly a few years ago and they didn't have a great year last year.
I can't go into the full details of what happened with the Crows"

That last part was an Interesting choice of words I thought 🤔

*He had us at 5-1 & in second place🤞
Is it fixable Simmo and when can you start?

Reads like players not aligned with coach
You know how Phil Walsh used to talk about building an F1 car and driving it as fast as you can? Nicks tried to build a Holden Barina and drive it like he's in a car park to start last year.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if the players were massively frustrated with Nicks constantly putting the handbreak on the style of play that makes them look the most dangerous. You imagine coming into day 1 of PS, you're coming off being the highest scoring team in the league and your coach tells you we're 180ing all of that and moving away from our biggest strength.

Nicks likes clean ball handlers.
On Peatling
"We're big on players that are clean with the ball, they're one take and they make the game slow down. He showed a little bit of that today and he's shown that right throughout our pre-season.

"All of our stoppage and contest work he's been very clean and very good with his hands.

It's makes you wonder even more how Berry got another contract with the amount he fumbles

Wonder if McAndrew will play Friday?
Considering we had a number of Freo players making up the numbers for us last year, when we played a 6-quarter game against them, it's definitely not outside the realms of possibility.

What they normally do is play the best 22 (or close to it) for the first 3-4 quarters, with the SANFL squad mostly playing out the last 2-3 quarters. It's entirely possible that McAndrew plays those last 2-3 quarters, despite him not being on our SANFL or AFL lists.

Surely training with a professional football club will mean he is better prepared for the season.
It's a 2-edged sword. He'd definitely have better fitness after training full-time with Adelaide, and training against ROB rather than Norwood's 2nd ruck. On the other hand, he won't have been integrated into Norwood's game plan, which is a disadvantage.

Two weeks before round one. Not a lot of time for Norwood to get him into their game plan

Ruck is easy. Jog from stoppage to stoppage and present for the long kick down the line. Works for every club

Done!
