I think from his very first preseason with us prior to Burgess we realised he was a problem. There was coversations about sending him back to Sturt full time. He was lucky to last as long as he did with us.

I guess the big question is - why the hell did we offer him a 3 year extension and try and keep him during the 2023 season.
If our world class fitness guru had "figured him out" - the contract extension makes zero sense.

Same with North Melbourne. We offered stupid draft picks for JHF and had they gone through we would not have got Rankine or Rachele While JHF is a gun, I think our list is in way better condition because we didnt get JHF

I think it would have definitely cost us Rachele.
If Rankine wanted to come we still would have worked out a deal. Same as Dawson.
I don't think the JHF deal was as crazy as many others. He is going to be an absolute superstar IMO.
Rachele, Curtin (future pick for Rankine) and probably also Soligo (pick for Dawson).
