I guess the big question is - why the hell did we offer him a 3 year extension and try and keep him during the 2023 season.

If our world class fitness guru had "figured him out" - the contract extension makes zero sense.

I'm never 100% convinced these things actually happen. But if it did - yeah, it's a bit weird. I guess the lower offer from us had the additional injury risk built into his value? Feels like it wasn't a serious enough offer to get him.

Same with North Melbourne. We offered stupid draft picks for JHF and had they gone through we would not have got Rankine or Rachele While JHF is a gun, I think our list is in way better condition because we didnt get JHF

Yup, however, I don't think you'd regret it if you were Adelaide and JHF kept on the track he was on. After all, you've hit on the player who has quite possibly the best shot in the next decade to reach the level that Dangerfield/Martin did.

Dawson has repped us at the AFL captains photo in Melbourne today. No surprises as he’s a gun but odd that happening before we’ve officially announced.
