On 2 things will stop North Womens going through the season undefeated and winning the premiership.

Rain and/or injuries to key players..
yep rain is our kryptonite

apparently there is a slight chance of rain in geelong on saturday :( but hopefully should be all clear during the game

Across these three articles...

... there are 25 reporters and analysts making predictions.

Premiers

Brisbane 6
Hawthorn 3
Adelaide 1

League B&F
Garner 8
G. Prespakis 3
Riddell 3
Bates 2
Hore 2
Roberts 2
Conti 1
Koenen 1 [Sarah Black picking a player who has never even finished top 2 in a club B&F]
Marinoff 1

So collectively the pundits are giving Conti a 4% chance to win the B&F.

Ok I'll do it in the form of those AFL.com.au malakas

Premier: North Melbourne
Runner-up: Adelaide
Wooden spoon: Gold Coast
Moving up: West Coast
Set to fall: Port Adelaide
AFLW best and fairest: Ash Riddell
Leading goalkicker: Aisling Moloney
Recruit of the year: Eilish Sheerin
Headline you'll see: Suns top up players treated for clinical depression after 114 point loss to Brisbane
Big call: We'll see the biggest margin and team total ever in Round 4 NM vs. COLL

Why only some practice match results matter, and others don't, I'm not sure...

But apparently Essendon kicking 2 goals vs North is more concerning than Fremantle kicking 1 goal vs St Kilda (in WA). Otherwise there's no reason for the groundswell of Bombers doomsayers.

Might slide a little but I'll be surprised if they don't start the season 3-0, 4-2. Usual injuries disclaimer applies, though they did make finals last year with minimal Toogood.
Essendon not only hit with injuries - only 26 available players (after we also had injury replacement players), really 25 as the Rugby convert ain't much chop - but a tough back half of the draw.

I don't rate GWS, but I think the Bombers are vunerable to GWS in Canberra this weekend.

The weather was truly atrocious which as I recall is your #1 factor impacting scoring. They had a reasonable number of shots and just couldn't kick it accurately.
Which is pretty much what Essendon would've managed against St Kilda in bad weather.

Essendon will be horrible this year. Thinking about tipping GWS.

A couple of predictions for 2025.

North Melbourne will be the last team to record their 20th defeat. Currently North have 19 defeats, Hawthorn 17 and Essendon 16, all other teams have reached 20, the last being Port Adelaide in last year's Preliminary Final.

Weather permitting, North Melbourne will be the first team to score 1000 points in a season. Last season North scored 811 points in 14 games, despite 4 or 5 being badly affected due to the weather. With clear skies, North will need to average 66.67 points per game in 12 regular season and (hopefully) three finals to reach the four-figure milestone.
One of my predictions came true tonight, North will be the last to reach 20 losses. Essendon reached the mark in round 7 and Hawthorn tonight with their loss to North.

North is also well on the way to scoring 1000 points by the end of the season, they finished the regular season scoring 128.100.868.

Not at all trying to sound smug or putting people down (it's always hard to predict how a season will go) - but it's interesting to see how low the expectations were for Carlton going into the season. We really surprised everyone with our 5th place finish, huh.

Yes and no.

We hadn’t won more than 4 games in a season since 2021, so I understand the low expectations.

Having said that, predictions of 3 or fewer games was silly - always thought we were going to reach that comfortably, particularly with our home fixture.

I felt we’d improve but still probably be a year away from making a significant jump - that were hosting an elimination final and perhaps a little disappointed to have fallen short of a double chance is a huge credit to all involved.

Nah, it was silly to play Mimi Hill in the backline for a year, who knew what other silly things Mathew Buck was going to do to undermine his team. Didn't deserve any benefit of doubt.

Some of us actually posted our predictions in this thread, making it clear what we got right and wrong.

Granted that's not as courageous as blowing in after the fact and going "derrr well that was a silly prediction".

Well, if you’re going to react this poorly to it being pointed out you got things wrong, maybe predictions aren’t for you?

It’s ok to be wrong. As I said, I got them wrong too. Most people did.

Pies improved by a few spots.

Just a hell of a long way to go to make finals.

Feels like its wont be until 2027 collingwood make it.

A long way to go for the Pies.

But slowly making the climb up the ladder.

Need to go through an extensive over haul of the aflw program at the Pies.

Need to start to clean out some players and begin the delistings.

Bring in some new young talent via the draft and they are right to go.

Still a long way to go.

But early days at Collingwood.

I ended up getting both of these predictions correct, but along with North going through the season undefeated that was about all I got correct. I had a bit a shocker this season with my predictions.

Pretty good effort honestly!

For Collingwood girls.

I think its time to finally make a finals return.

Time has come.

Depends on the draft and how productive they are.

But finally on the right track now.

But a sneaky chance of finals in 2026.

Need to flesh out the list a bit and go for young talls.

As with flag winner i tipping either Melbourne or Carlton or hawthorn in 2026.

Like in the AFL both lions and norths eras will start to come to the close.

All about the next wave of young teams.

AFL i think cats lions eras will start coming to a close.

AFLW lions and north.

Need to fix up the whole aflw comp tho.

Needs an over haul in all departments.
