Early predictions…

They will be too focused on stopping Newcombe in the midfield and Ward will cash in. He’s been consistently building for weeks and Sam flagged him as one to watch this finals series.

Chol will heavily influence the game in our favour with his ruck work.

Mitch Lewis will put in a big game. I think the wider expanses of the MCG will suit him better than the narrow AO and he won’t want to put in a poor one and risk losing his spot in a potential GF to Dear.

Sicily legacy game. He said he was feeling a bit nervous earlier in the week. I reckon he harnesses that energy into a great performance.

We can't afford to have any passengers for this game. If we show up with any sign of weakness, then Geelong will take full advantage of that and exploit it.
We unfortunately may not be able to afford to make handling errors, etc when the inevitable heat is applied.
We play as fast and clean as we did last week, and we can do it, but anything less...

It would be an enormous injustice for Geelong to lose to us based on season 2025.

A loss to our inexperienced and at times mentally “wobbly” list, would render this PF the second greatest defeat Geelong has suffered in their history. The first of course being the loss of 2008 GF.

I remember going to the GF in 2008 with limited expectations and to this day will never forget the celebrations.

The 2013 PF meant way way way more to me and the club for the obvious reasons leading into this game.

If Geelong drop this one, their recent dominance as a club will be forever extinguished.

This is a genuine free hit to destroy a club culture mentally for the next ten seasons.
