I wouldn't mind Alex Davies from Gold Coast. I believe we have been previously linked earlier in year. A big mid at 193cm and 23 year old. More Handballs than Kicks could play the Defensive Mid or in & under.

So mids can’t float forward or push wider on transition?I’m not sold Curtin will ever be the CBA midfielder some on here are saying.
He’s incredibly mobile for his size but he’s still 197 cms.
Dominating marks on the wing so the team as that outlet kick with the ability to float forward or back is an incredible skill. Do we really need him/see him being in an under packs every ball up?

I'm not convinced he's a natural mid. I don't think he's shown that he's a natural in the middle of the contest yet. He better attacking the ball when it's in front of him, or being a marking option. At least so farHe is a natural mid. Height has nothing to do with it if they can reach the KPIs for an elite mid. Cripps is only a few cm shorter. I think he shows enormous potential as a mid.

The bad part about that is we have a game plan that doesn't particularly utilise wingmen a lot. When we go wide we go long to the pack.I’m not sold Curtin will ever be the CBA midfielder some on here are saying.

He could be also wheeling away from a stoppage and then delivering the ball inside f50. As a mid he can still be an outlet kick and transition the arcsI’m not sold Curtin will ever be the CBA midfielder some on here are saying.

They could rotate Curtin and Fog onballWe need a young mid that can do what young petracca did. When guys like petracca get older, to maintain longevity in the game, they need to become smarter and not necessarily go 100 percent at every contest. That style of game is extremely taxing on the body and physically they body will wear the scars.
We need a young bull that will physically intimidate the opposition and power away from stoppage.
Curtin could be that player.
So regardless of whether we get Petracca we have to invest in the midfield of the future, because he doesn't solve all our midfield problems. He's also doesn't have the best for skills, although this may change as he slows down in his later years
The case in point here is Dangerfield, an absolute beast in his younger days who would go at every contest. We need a young mid that can do what young petracca did. Yeah nah, that was never an option at all. They could rotate Curtin and Fog onball
NFI why they haven't built his tank enough to go into the midfield for spurts as that bull
He played there in his u/18's
There is an exceptionally talented 197cm KPF in this draft flying way under the radar in Murray Bushranger Liam Hetherton, he's a top 10 talent that has had his season cruelled by injury (back). Only played the 3 games early in the season kicking 11 goals in a very ordinary 2025 Bushies team before the back issue. If his back checks out OK we should be all over him.I’d be more reluctant to keep Tex if we didn’t have a dearth of young key forwards coming through. It’s basically just Ibis.
We could change our structure of course but I’m not sure it’s a Smith situation where we clearly had promising young talent in his role.
And getting Butts to go to North Melb if we are pushing him as part of the deal, especially when WBD are sniffing around himIf Petracca selected the Crows, and Butts requested the Roos, could we look to involve Jai Simpkin in a 3 way trade to get all deals over the line?
I'd imagine Simpkin to the Demons would be interesting to both parties, it would just be about getting North to agree to trading their captain.
True, but I think North could pay him a fair bit more then the WBD could right now, at this stage in Jordy's career the financial motivation is probably pretty important. And getting Butts to go to North Melb if we are pushing him as part of the deal, especially when WBD are sniffing around him
Is this draft class a sneaky good KPF class? I've said for a while now its a position I want to address in the draft regardless of Tex is playing another year or not. There is an exceptionally talented 197cm KPF in this draft flying way under the radar in Murray Bushranger Liam Hetherton, he's a top 10 talent that has had his season cruelled by injury (back). Don't think so, all I know is bar for Liam Hetherton's back issue he was absolutely in top 10 contention IMO after a good underage year and a hot start to the 2025 CTL season. Is this draft class a sneaky good KPF class? I'd really like another strong contested marking player to develop into our forward line to take some of the attention off TT
We are talking about the Demons here though. They friggin love an outrageous contract!Simpkin is on an outrageous contract given his output.
I don't reckon there would be many clubs in the AFL interested in him
Have to be patient here, FA next year the goZac Bailey is the guy, we need to get him.
Has gone to another level this year after already proving multiple times he's a big game player and again last weekend.
