Going to agree, our midfield actually looked decent yesterday. Maybe I will eat my hat and Jones is a decent coach after all.
Forwards struggled, mostly due to cattle.

I've reflected on the game and I'm doubling down - we suck. Relying on individual brilliance (Gawn, Trac, Oliver) to paper over massive cracks.
Game plan hasn't changed at all, just moved the chess pieces around to make it look like Goody is doing something but all it does is play good players out of position.
Forward line is a dog's breakfast. Goal kicking accuracy sucks.
Defence looks flaky. Not sure why moving Chaplin forward had achieved at all. Man we love robbing Peter to pay Paul.

We might end up having a poor season, but I thought we easily had the better of Freo. Stoppages we won easily..a lot more inside 50s. They had a couple of smalls who could find the goals where no one could for us. 2nd half much better. Sime good signs from the game. Just frustrating we couldn't finish off up front. Our prime target injured in the first 30seconds didn't help either.
I think definitely a lot to like but also some wait and see areas. Defensively I thought we were out positioned at times. And when we tried to chip it around we turned it over too often. I few if we give up bulk inside 50s would be in strife unless we work that out. But with Trac and Clarry back towards their best we are much improved.

That game will just confirm whatever people already thought. Either we are still too reliant on too few and can't kick for goal or hit targets, or the raw numbers show the team is back on track and a few problems can be sorted soon.

Actually really liked Adam's game, would be great if he can force himself in front of TMac as first man in should we get an injury to May/Lever/Petty.

Sounded like Freo played bruise-free in the second half, as you'd expect when you're already six goals up in a preseason match.
I think most supporters just want to see evidence of change, rather than resorting to the same crap we've seen before. Doesn't sound like much to get excited about from that perspective.

I would have felt differently about three years of results had we kicked straighter though, legs.

From what I saw last nite I would play Johnson over Turner . As for Windsor, of course we move a bloke who loves to kick a goal further away from goals . Happy to see Trac and Oliver looking more like their old selves , but forward of centre needs more work , ie kicking for goals . Shame about AMW , would have been my choice over Bowey . . I’ll wait and see if our shots on goal was just the yips or still an issue this season . Billings should be banned from set shots . Lindsey looks promising, Max already getting belted and season hasn’t started yet . On to round one .
Problem is, who the hell do we put in the F50? The cupboard is bare. Just terrible list management. We have a genuine bottom 4 forwardline.
Adams looked good. Definitely a positive from the game. I think he could be more chance to make it than Jeffe at this stage.
I brought up the Windsor move awhile back. Not a fan at all of the move. Agree on Lindsay. Reckon he's a great pick for us.

Agree with most of this but I'd leave Sharp on the wing and give Windsor the role they have given Langdon and Rivers. Windsor actually has weapons that would be useful in the midfield.

Play JVR/Johnson/Fritsch as the talls - tell K Brown he will be picked on pressure acts and tackles and put him as a small.

Its called a coach completely out of ideas. You throw the magnets around for the sake of it when you have nothing left. Under 12's coaching is here in 2025, wouldnt surprise me if Goody post game speech to the players was "Dont worry about the scoreboard, we all had a good time, thats what matters most"
