Would be a first in the World Championship era.Oscar P to become the 1st Aussie to win his home GP ( Alan Jones, Calder Park 1980 ) in 45 years !!
Let’s hope Oscar has the pace to beat his teammate regularly this year. Norris was reported to be quite a bit quicker at testing apparently. Time will tell.
Correct.Don't go by testing times.
Not far off I reckon but you can always back Alonso to get a truck into Q3 almost as well as you can back Stroll to get a half decent car stuck in Q1.A lot of testing reports seem to summarise the predicted pecking order as
McLaren fastest slightly
Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes near behind, but could be a track specific thing.
Williams big improvers in mid field, could be the contender for 5th
Haas, Alpine and RB probably similar to where they were last year (scrapping for points)
Aston Martin and Sauber appear to be destined for quite a few Q1 exits this year
I’m not just going by testing times. Lando was faster than Oscar in most races last year. I’m hoping Oscar has learned to manage the tires even better for this year and can find the pace to match and beat Lando, coz I’m confident in a title fight Oscar will have the edge mentally.Don't go by testing times.
You are wasting your time comparing teammates times in testing, day vs night is a huge difference laptime wiseLet’s hope Oscar has the pace to beat his teammate regularly this year. Norris was reported to be quite a bit quicker at testing apparently. Time will tell.
