This does raise questions or should i say further questions about all concerned parties here.

The players took Richmond for granted, the management allowed complacency to creep in and it cost us four points that could prove to be very important come end of the season.

I just think while it's only round one the alarm bells are already going off big time here. On the evidence of this performance, we won't come remotely close to playing in the finals this year.

The only positive i'm clinging to is that it was the first game and that we will get better from this.

Unless everyone gets the finger out here the Hawks game next week could get ugly.

It’s time to take a macro view of things, rather than focusing on individual matters.

Carlton is not a democratic club, but rather a closed shop where questionable characters are at the helm, focused on promoting their own image at the expense of the club.

I have consistently said that unless this administration is completely removed, nothing will change. Less Carlton respects and more hard nosed winning.

An administration that allowed the same coaching panel to proceed was astounding and a failure of epic proportions.

There is still a messiah complex at this club (which many in here perpetuate). No individual is bigger than the club, nor is any individual the difference between success and failure. It’s clear tough decisions are averted and the worshipping of players that haven’t achieved the ultimate success simply bizarre.

Carlton is bankrupted culturally. Living in the past, politically correct and lacking a ruthless edge.

If you want to agitate for change, don’t attend games, don’t contribute financially - boycott the club.

It’s been a “country club” environment for years.
Pampered in luxurious facilities and wanting for nothing.
Everyone, onfield and off, are very well paid with little to no expectation or accountability to perform like winners week in week out.
About the only thing served up consistently is the social media team’s “wholesome” waffle that they’ll no doubt double down on again this week following tonight’s cowardly performance …

Windsor for lunch next Thursday.

Booked.

Hang out with the big kids.

I think if I cut & paste a bit of every post so far, it would sum up my feelings.
One of the worst performance I can recall, including our spoon years.
This team is so soft, they got out tackled and out bustled by a team in game 1 of an enormous rebuild.
Richmond's desire to win the footy and have a dip was at a totally different level to ours, after quarter time.
As for our off season recruiting....WTF?
Haynes has shown me zilch in pre season games and took it to an all time low level tonight.
Maybe we delist him and go out and get another small forward.
I'm a glass half empty person as it is, but I expected a 5 goal win, at least, tonight.
Just phone Sam Mitchell now & forfeit next week, please 🙏
Rant over.

Not quite sure what people saw in TDK's performance - he was very poor tonight imo. Got completely towelled up by arguably the BOG in Nankervis. I am bewildered that TDK still makes the same mistakes against these bigger ruckman. Stop trying to outbody him - use your athleticism. Then giving up that easy mark inside 50 for a goal - just poor. And don't get me started on his kicking. Not once did he look where he was kicking - simply a blind long punt.

Just wait until next week when when Hawthorn beat us by 100+ and the reality sets in that THEY also have our first AND second round draft picks next year.

Can we stop calling him Haynes and refer to him as O'Shea 2.0?
Sort of correct.

O'Shea could mark but couldn't kick with us.

Haynes can kick but cannot mark a single ball. Played with a cake of soap tonight. Two dropped crucial marks and 2 Richmond goals.

If motlop gets a game next week I've had enough i swear to god

Voss really has no option but to make a stand now.

imo, these players MUST be dropped:

Haynes
Gov
Harry
Motlop

It's not just that they played shit... anybody can have a mare... the fact is, they showed no heart whatsoever all night. It was just one undisciplined effort after another.

I think we have to go a fair way backwards to go forwards again.

Coaching is inept. A decade behind the game. Stubbornly inflexible and devoid of creativity.

List collectively has league-worst footskills. Club tries to spin that as “we love a contest” and “we’re blue collar”, but actually only a few of the side do.

I feel so bad for Cripps annd Weitering. Basically everyone else (not the 22 and under youngsters, not their fault) can GAGF.

FWIW, I would not only have subbed out Motlop in the third quarter, I would have fired him on the bench and told him to have his locker cleaned out before the game was over. Small, soft, incapable above his head, bad decisions, weak in the contest, hardly chases and doesn’t ice his chances. About as deadly as a Nerf ball. Everything an AFL small forward needs.

I think I'm really off Harry Mckay.

27 years old.
Can't kick a basic set shot.

Only goal he kicked tonight was from 15m in front and he had to kick it around the corner and barely made it anyway.

He's the epitome of what this club represents.

Failure.
Mate he is so soft. For someone who is 202cm he plays like he weighs 60 kegs

Also, what the hell was up with us slipping all game? I've never seen anything like it before.
There were two sections near the Olympic stand that were visibly soft, with deep bootprints in them and divots where player's legs went out from under them.

Having said that, Richmond didn't seem to have any issues keeping their feet on those patches.

I agree with everything you're saying except for what i bolded (which i won't bother discussing).

We are not a football club.

We are a group of guys who happen to play football together with no accountability at pretty much every level of governance.

I implore everyone. DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP. Why waste your hard earned money on an organisation that won't work hard for you?

There is was so much that was wrong tonight - but don’t understand the negativity towards SOS. Tried his absolute heart out. Solid first game in defence and looked our only dangerous forward when he did go forward late.
SOS was our bog. He was solid as **** in the backline

Richmond players weren't slipping over their own bathwater
