The cream has risen to the top.
That didn't take long. Not bad for a player who has had a 'slow start to the season'...

The cream has risen to the top.
Bontempelli would be too if he played all season. It's pretty remarkable that Sidebottom and Danger would be in the team right now at their respective ages. Truly evergreen footballers.

Fair enough, but turns 30 this year. He's a few years younger than those two though, not even 30 yet.
Combined goals and assists round 6:
1. Riley Thilthorpe 24 (16/8)
2. Josh Treacy 21 (18/3)/Ben King (18/3)/Jack Higgins (17/4)/Darcy Fogarty (16/5)/Taylor Walker (14/7)
7. Paul Curtis 20 (15/5)
8. Mitch Georgiades 19 (15/4)/Ben Long (13/6)
10. Toby Greene 18 (14/4)/Sam Darcy (14/4)/Ben Keays (12/6)
I think this is the first time I've had so many players from the one team in the top 10 (well, 12, but still). Shows how good Adelaide's forward line has been this year.
Dangerfields ahead of bernie smith. Especially as a half foward flanker. Has smith even kicked a goal this season?B Ash S Taylor Wanganeen-Milera
HB Houston Sicily Whitfield
C Sidebottom Rowell Merrett
HF Horne-Francis Hipwood B Smith
F Pickett Hogan Schultz
FOLL Cameron Dawson N Daicos
IC Liberatore McCluggage Gawn Newcombe E Richards
Curtis has to be a starting forward atm.
Butters has only played the 3 games but is coming with a bullet. Already top 20 in the coaches votes.
Still Port's best player from JHF & no doubt will make the AA if plays enough games as gun.Butters has only played the 3 games but is coming with a bullet. Already top 20 in the coaches votes.
funny thing about ratings points, coaches votes, media awards.B: Wanganeen-Milera, Andrews, Sinclair
HB: Rozee, Taylor, Merett
Idun - Weitering - Houstonfunny thing about ratings points, coaches votes, media awards.
The flashy guys down back get plaudits. The workhorses get nothing.
This backline would get slaughtered in a real game.
But your dour back pockets and KPD stoppers who get 5 touches are invisible.
No room for Aidan Corr?Idun - Weitering - Houston
Dale - Taylor - Blakey
Would probably be my pick of a backline if I were actually wanting the best backline I could think of across the league. But players like Idun don't tend to get the plaudits they deserve. Blakey has a decent mix of offense and defense, Houston the same. Dale imo the best user out of the backline in the league.
Probably have a pure lockdown like Starcevic as the rotation.

Zuthrie is a very good shout. Would fit into any team in the comp and plays multiple roles each week to cover Stewart shifting around. Not sure I'd take him ahead of the Lizard or Houston but he'd definitely be in the mix, would love a player like him at the Blues.Putting my hand up to say I don’t watch enough of all 18 teams consistently enough to really judge this fairly but I’ve watched a lot of Carlton games and Weitering would be my first pick but given how much I’ve watched of him and my obvious personal bias I would, based on the last two seasons (this isn’t an AA post just a ‘the team I would pick if putting a team together to play a game’ post) make sure Zac Guthrie is in there somewhere. He’s been the best defender in a team that’s made a preliminary final and is currently 4-2 and was runner up in our BF last year, he’s gone past Tom Stewart as the general in our defence for the time being. Is absolutely rock solid.
Worst award to rate Daicos on…The cream has risen to the top.

Your coach gives him 5 votes every week! Wouldn’t surprise me if he got votes when he doesn’t play…
Can’t argue with facts!Did you come up with that all by yourself? WOW. So original.
Can’t argue with facts!
Touched a nerve huh.I suggest you learn some Maths and have a look at the votes this year, then get back to me. This is not a banter thread. This is a thread built on good footy discussion so head off to the Collingwood and Carlton Banter thread if you want to carry on like a jealous bitter little school child and have your whinge there.
Touched a nerve huh.
No banter here… As stated IMO, the coaches award is not an award to be judging Nick over. Over the years your coach gives Nick 5 votes for turning up.
PS: Collingwood have nothing and no one for me or any other Carlton supporter to be jealous over.
Also IMO Daicos certainly should be in the conversation and will likely be in the team at the end of the year. Just not based off coaches votes.
