Madden a better player but I'd argue Gawn is a better ruckman.
Madden spent a lot of time resting forward taking hangers. But yes, I appreciate your view.
One is locked in to finals and the other is almost certainly going to miss them. You can argue it, but it would be a terrible argument. You do realise that depending on the GC game tomorrow, you'll finish in an equal or potentially worse ladder position than last year, despite recruiting Battle & Barrass.
Making top 4 is tough, I'd argue the Hawks have underachieved this year, as much as the Dogs.

Gunston the only Hawk to make the squad but should also definitely make the team.
Battle i think should be close to a squad selection but won't make it and Hardwick i think would be deserving if he played the full season as a defender.
There's no way the homophobe gets in. Or Darcy.I took a swing at it. Stiff to miss were Rowell, Heeney, Serong, Dale, Vlaustin and my toughest one Gunston.

Think the team is fairly level, not really anyone playing out of position.
Obviously if i could include everyone i could but had to make tough choices.
Could very easily swap out the entire bench for guys i listed as stiff.
EG Gunston for Darcy, Rowell or Serong for Holmes, Heeney for Richards,, Vlaustin or Dale for Clark.
Its subjective, its hard with soo many talented players.
There's no way the homophobe gets in.
He hasn't had a consistently good enough year.I mean if we are going on that logic, Steven May would have never made a single team.
Being a dickhead doesn't determine AA status
Imo Darcy has just not had an AA season.I took a swing at it. Stiff to miss were Rowell, Heeney, Serong, Dale, Vlaustin and my toughest one Gunston.

I don't even think Darcy will make the squad to be honest.Imo Darcy has just not had an AA season.
If you are only playing 17 games you need to be head and shoulders clear of other players (Bont for example).
Not doubting his ability but on output i just can't see a case to be made for Darcy

I don't agree with this.Gawn is brilliant when the ball is in the air, but his kicking is generally farcical.
I don't agree with this.
Gawn unquestionably has had farcical moments, but he's also very reliable when he's not under extreme pressure or kicking for goal.
Only Tim English of the premium ruckmen has a better kicking efficiency, and it's only just (63.8% to 62.4).
And in the retention rating of kicks he's better than the rest except for Grundy by the narrowest of margins.
I guess it's only the odd howler that sticks in your head.
The fact he's borderline at best, the incident will ensure he's excluded from the team. Why shouldn't it be taken into account what Rankine did?
It’s says Mannagh there, you must have misspelt something.Squad wise from Geelong
Cameron, Smith, Holmes, Mannagh

I don’t think he’ll be in the squad (let alone team), but it’ll be more from an optics POV rather than performanceWhy shouldn't it be taken into account what Rankine did?
