Game should have no VC with the rolling lockout nowdays.
Hopefully SC fixes this one day
I think you should be able to choose a VC and a C.

Having C only with rolling lock outs could bite you if your captain played last game and was a late out and all your other guns have played.

So for me a simple VC and C locked out when the first ball is bounced.

Gawn looks to have 2 x 180s in the first 4 weeks with Giants and Cats
don't worry about the first 4 weeks, check out his first 8 weeks

rd1 Keeffe/other
rd2 Xerri
rd3 Witts
rd4 SDK/Blicavs
rd5 Draper/Bryan
rd6 underdone Darcy/Reidy/Jackson
rd7 Nank
rd8 Flynn/AReid/BJW

he could be averaging 150 by the time round 9 comes...

Yours sincerely,
A very concerned non-owner

I was super concerned going without him too until I checked his stats against these teams last season:

Last season against these guys:
114 against Xerri
97 against Witts
111 against Stanley + Blitz
95 against Freo last season (underdone or not, Darcy is a tough match-up due to his ability to collect HO)
162 against Richmond (98 against Nank the year before)
109 and 100(64% TOG) against WCE last year.

The main team/player he bullied last year was Port Adelaide, where he went 177 twice. Other than that, the only other times he went 160+ were against St Kilda(Marshall is a terrible tap ruckman) and Dogs (English terrible tap ruckman). He didn't crack 140 against any other side.

So 140+ in 5 games: PA twice (177, 177), Richmond once (162), St Kilda once (180) and WBD once (162)

Gawn hasn't played Essendon for a couple of years. Due to them running 2 rucks, Essendon tend to do pretty well at restricting ruck points.
______________________________________________
So the teams he'll likely feast against: Port, Richmond, WBD and St Kilda.

Port: He faces once in Round 14, just before his bye in 15
Richmond: Once - Round 7
WBD: Once - Round 22
St Kilda: Twice - Round 12 and 20.

I think he'll kill Keefe in R1 (150+) - but it'll be in Round 1, and that score will only be in his system for 1 price change cycle.

There's also an argument that with the rain fall expected on Sunday, he won't get the chance to get those contested marks + touches that'll help elevate his score. I know there's an argument for increased stoppages and so increased hitouts to advantage. So...

Games last year where Gawn had 40+ hitouts (34 was his season average) = 128 average (88% TOG)
Games last year where Gawn had 16 or less disposals (19.1 season average) = 99.8 average (82% TOG)
Games last year where Gawn had 5 or less marks (5.2 season average) = 109.3 (84% TOG)

Anyway... that took way too long. But based on all that, I'm fading Gawn and still slightly terrified, even with those numbers.

Xerri into Gawn. Loop will depend on how Davidson goes as my forward EMG. If he does well ill downgrade Humphrey to a non-playing rookie and then can use that as a potential loop.

If Davidson does shit, ill keep Humphrey and if i want to take Xerri's score i will downgrade A.Reid (who is firming to play) in rucks to Boyd or another ruck = or <119.9k that is not playing

Im actually very content with that play given Humphrey has the bye in round 2 so im happy to leave him out if Davidson does well. I guess the score probably has to be 80+ for me to consider dropping Humphrey though & it obviously depends on how Xerri does too

This is some top tier work here Souup.

Fade Gawn is back.

Not sure if it's discussed before or in another thread, but with the introduction of the flex position - taking the best 22 out of your 23 players.
  1. How does that affect the VC / C loopholes?
  2. Does this mean we need 2 non players on field to be able to do the loop?

Pretty sure it works just like the bye rounds. Best 22 of the 23 and you can put the C on any non-playing player and your VC score doubles.
