My good reason had three layers: he was out last week, the Caldwell opportunity and the Mills opportunity to replace him at D6 after their bye.

Why you'd hold him last week and trade him this week buggers me
Oh yeah, trading last week was a different story.

Surely Langdon doesn’t tag Butters does he?
You called that a tag? Langdon is no tagger. Not in a true sense anyway. He got away with murder. Anyone can hold, grapple and wrap themselves around a player @ stoppage if the umpires let them get away with it, which is exactly what happened. It was a disgrace.

I hope they’re onto it this week with ANY player who tries those tactics. Tag like a champion NOT like a bitch. It’s a blight on the game.

Butters has dominated against Melbourne on a number of occassions before.

I think it is pretty much a lock that Langdon would go to Butters.

my only fattened rookies are hewett and erasmus who will still make more cash. so unless i trade a roberts or rankine that means no butters this week. not looking forward to deathriding him. probably will just use one trade to grab zak johnson at this stage. sigh.

Hope Butters can keep him to 4 disposals. :moustache:

Awwwwww, can’t get Butters in 2 trades. Another pure mid starts to put pressure on my structure too. Johnson only viable rook, I think.

Is here ANY forward worth buying this week? Really need one, ideally sub $500k. Kennedy? 95 average and had his bye, plus DPP.

Is it worth going Roberts to NAS this week? I could see them averaging a 15 point per game difference.

It'd leave me with 7 trades left with 22 premos (stewart in flex)

Having a look around and Luke Ryan seems like a decent POD play. Next 4 games: North, Essendon, St Kilda and Sydney. 5 round average of 106 at 500k.

No

5rd of 83.8, hasn’t really been taking the monopoly of kick ins and he’s not great at defending. Has a brain fart too many times to be the elite as of yet.
But Bice is getting dropped or at least moved up field so more chips for Robbo?

Anyway, each to their own. I'm just surprised with trades getting low folk are trading him is all.

I’m liking this.
Three dead rookies gone.
Will leave me 11 trades to get my last premo (JHF?) and try to scrape enough cash for a flex at a later time.
Hewett can sit there for a couple more weeks. Another couple of 80+ games would be nice.

Assuming the 3 ins are named, I'm looking to go triple down:

In: Johnson, Jackson, McCarthy
Out: Lindsay, Moreas, Huswaite

Will have $400k to turn Campbell Gray into Butters next week. Also allows me to structure to get 23 onto the field this week pending selections.

Anyone keeping Roberts?

He's averaging 95 and has a BE of 85.

I should have 19-20 playing this week so am leaning towards holding him. Not sure I can afford to trade him tbh given dead rooks and the fact that we still have half a season left.
Are people trading him? Averaging 95, he's a fine D6.

I've changed my mind and will get Bont next week.

This week Long, Oliver, Davidson > Butters, NVM, Mentha (99k D/F)

Will make Nas my 6th defender.

Next week Hewett, Lord, Brock > Bont, Mills, Charleson (99k D/M)

Mills will be flex and def cover

Reckon I’m going for this. Now hear me out, my plan of keeping Neale and getting rid of say a Boxshall to a 99k dead rook (to raise the funds for JHF in a couple weeks time) doesn’t change or make any difference to the amount of trades I’d have left with a finished team + Nas has had a bye, averaging better and 60k cheaper (raises the needed coin). Also helps me out for that last bye where I’ve got a fair number out if I hypothetically keep Neale (when I’ve also just had a disaster bye last week) that I think I’m definitely pulling the trigger on this. Carroll -> Mills in 1 trade next week and have Holmes/Rozee at M8 covering Backline via Allan DPP at D8.

Neale also has GWS and Cats coming up, 2 teams he struggles against and 2 potential tags looming there. I’ve gotta try something brave I guess.

The only downside I can think of is having FOUR Saints premo’s: Sinclair, Marshall, Macrae AND now Nasiah - but I’d love to get him in as I enjoy watching him play. Also prefer him for an extra 110k than McKercher.

Basically Nas with an extra game (better average than Neale + saving me in a bad bye + able to cover backline with a DPP DEF/MID at M8) > Boxshall to a 99k rook to raise the funds for JHF in a couple weeks time (I’m also not being talked out of Butters even though Neale to him looks like a sideways)
