Pending team selection have gone Carroll Boxshall and Warner to butters McCarthy and Johnson. If Carroll keeps his spot will trade gray instead. Leaves me this

Team looking solid. Seems you will get a 23rd player post byes if you got the trades.

What’s our thoughts on Dewar? Campbell Gray out for a few weeks.

His role seems great with kick ins, just don’t watch enough eagles to be confident…. Any thoughts?

Started to contemplate the same trade too.

My only concern would be if McCarthy coming in would affect his role?

I've had an epiphany on how I could get the Bont this week, but it involves trading Neale or Daicos (Neale preferred because I've got plenty of players this week). Worth doing? Neale isn't anywhere near my biggest issue but getting both Butters and Bont this round improves my team immensely.

Do it?

If you’ve got a fair few out last bye round then yep.

I’ve got Dunkley, Baz, Holmes, Merrett, Whitfield all out already this week. So Neale turns into NWM (+60k) for me, Giants and Cats coming up then the bye - think his days of being a top line Supercoach player are done

what about Roberts as a D4?

Wasn't even thinking from that angle, but Zorko, Smith, Ash and Green are out that round, so that's even more justification for it. Love it.

I think bedford swapped over to rozee pretty early on? If langdon goes to Butters it’s gonna be a battle for him to score and I doubt they’d swap the tag to Rozee or anyone else
Heard Butters on MMM this week saying he really set himself to beat Bedford.

It's easy to say they just moved him. But they moved him because it wasn't working.

Butters will make a mess of Langdon in the contested stuff.

Yeah I still think he'll do fine but I'd rather not trade someone in if they're going to get the hardest tag possible from one of the best runners in the comp

My thoughts with roberts is because I have enough premo cover the next few rounds, I’m happy to hold.

My plan is to get in my 23rd premo the end of round 15 (which includes roberts) and then assess if I need to punt him. Maybe flip to Darcy or go to a 500ker who knows.

Honestly, I doubt Langdon goes to Butters in the same way he went to Daicos. Butters and Daicos are both small and great runners; however, their impact on games is quite different.

Langdon went to Daicos because he was able to limit him in transition (the same way ANB did last year), whereas Butters is more explosive and manic around stoppages. Maybe he minds him between the arcs in transition, but Butters' main strength is his contest work – he'll eat Langdon alive in that regard.

Think it's more likely that Viney (if named) goes to Butters at stoppages.

Butters is too fast for Viney surely? 8 free's incoming as Viney has to keep pulling him back 😍

Viney's not slow, but can seem that way as he never really runs and carries.

Nonetheless, wouldn't be surprised if it's Viney at stoppages and maybe a bit of Langdon in general play.

Down to considering the following 2 options

Lindsay + Carroll + Gray -> NWM + McKercher + Johnson

Or

Lindsay + Gray + Neale -> Butters + Johnson + NWM (1 trade Carroll to Mills next week with the spare $220k)

Leaves 9 trades, and just Hewett to upgrade.

If Clarke can get to $230-240k at his bye that will be enough to turn Hewett into JHF or Darcy.

7 trades for injuries and maybe upgrading Roberts or McKercher at some point.

It's not great, but there it is.

Can't see a spike game coming against Gawn. He got beaten by a debutant last week.

Gawn could go 250 this week.
I’m just hoping he makes his break even :tearsofjoy:

I realised I can do the trades I want and hold Dante for another week, so I figured why not.
