TDK got played out of position all game in favour of Pitto.

Of all the people to take a shot at why go after TDK? Just about the only one with a valid excuse.

He's gone 18, 14, 21, 23 pos the last 4 weeks. 7, 6, 14, 13 contested pos. 4, 3, 5, 7 clearances.

All numbers pretty much in line with his season overall.

I get it - he's out of contract so an easy target but this is the move that sums up how clueless Voss is.

Young as tall defender - not my favourite but has to be better than a skinny 18 year old plus he is a second ruck option.

So then TDK can play full time ruck. Pitto out.

Voss mates Fantasia / Frank out. White / Durdin in.

Cincotta in to play on Daicos.

That's just the obvious stuff.

Fact check 1: Voss and Francis Evans aren’t “mates”, they never overlapped at Port Adelaide - Evans arrived a year after Voss had already moved on. So he doesn’t get any special treatment.

Fact check 2: Fantasia is actually one of our more reliable kicks and a creative player in a side that generally lacks polish.

That said, I’m with you on the broader point regarding White, Durdin, and Cincotta.

A lifetime Blues supporter, I always check this site to see the comments made by fellow supporters after game day. At 85 years of age, I have been fortunate to witness the Blues win 9 flags.

That the club has not really been in serious contention since our last flag in 1995, has been really disappointing. As a fan of Ratten as a player, I thought he would, given time and appropriate support, bring success to the club when he was appointed as coach. I thought the manner of his dismissal reflected very poorly on the club as he had been promised an end of season review, which if that had happened, may even resulted in him being retained, given the number of injuries to key players during his final year. His very gracious acceptance of his dismissal reflected what sort of a guy he is. Since then, changes to the coaching position have been made adhoc with little consideration being given to the selection process.

At least in appointing Voss, it does seem that a process was followed although the selection of Voss on hindsight has raised questions about the process, given who else was available at the time.
The resurgence under Voss in 2023 was exciting and promised much. How much of the change in the way the team played during the latter part of that year was due to the player get together at "Camp Curnow" which apparently ( rumour ) resulted in the team leadership group discussing the game plan with Voss.

It seems to me that Voss is so focussed on his vision of a successfull team having to be number one at contested possession that the other elements which apply to any successfull game plan have been overlooked. Should the game plan be tailored to suit the players we have ? Or should we adopt a game plane which does not match the playing group ? Team skills are way below what you should expect from players at AFL level.

What do the players do at training ? What is being done to improve basic skills. In postmatch sessions Voss keeps repeating " We need to get better " but there is no evidence to suggest that things are going to get better in the short term. I accept that the current list of players unavailable through injury and other issues, Elijah Hollands, is a factor, however, even when some of those injured players have been available, the general level of skills across the whole team has been poor.

Where does the club go from here ? There is no magic solution. Changing the coach ? Changing his support coaches ? Trading players with trade value ? I have seen too many changes over the years, many of which seem to have been influenced by financial benefactors with far too much say in the operation of the club. Only a few of those changes have benefitted the club in the long term.

All I want is to see another premiership before I head to "Princes Park in the Sky".

Whatever decisions are made at the end of theseason, I hope and pray that they do result in the Blues getting back to where we belong ... at the top of the tree !

BLUEBOYS FOREVER !

Just on the Charlie footage and everyone blaming Fox Footy.
You do know that they use 7's broadcast and commentate over it?
That's why there was no explanation on their broadcast. Seven was probably talking about in an ad break.

FFS Charlie did the hand tap to 2 Pies at the START of the game... Not at the start of the last ... Do your homework people

This is a perfect example of fake or manufactured news which was perpetrated by very disingenuous cutting and pasting of video within a live broadcast of the game.

Yes people should do their homework but in this situation the confusion is more than understandable.

It’s ****ing stupid.

Start of the game and if you’re mates outside of footy, fine.

Absolutely no need to high five 3 opposition players going back to your position whilst 60 points down.

i understand footys no longer the macho macho vibe it used to be but seriously, show some sort of competitive streak or pride.
This didn’t happen!!

Plenty to critise about the actual football played without getting into some optics BS about a ****ing high five before the game. This is what you get for watching foxtel
Agree but I think there is some truth to Charlie being a little unfocussed on the job at hand and the way he's been playing lately has fans questioning his intent.

The high fiving types of actions whilst are ok under normal situations is like pouring petrol on a fire when Charlie does it because he's been dishing up crappy performance after crappy performance lately.

Just to come back to this, apparently it was pregame footage being played after 3QT of the high five..
Pre game..ok
Mid game..no

Yes. Fox initially tweeted he did it when we were 60 points down, then tweeted it was during the game, then tweeted it was pre-game, all the while asking what Blues fans thought. 3 tweeted without an apology.

Besides that, it wasn't even a high five. It was a sideways hand slap of acknowledgement.

For me, after last 3 games...

GW given authority to makes changes now...

Lloyd, go before Tuesday... New Head of Footy Dept before season's end (would love a Balme type, not sure who...)

Voss, Hansen, Russell, Clarke, Hamill, Greaves all told they're gone at end of season.

LM team changes (not sure what, but something needs to change).

TDK told our offer won't change.

Of our 18 OOC players at end of year, decide who to keep (for me, heart and depth important as well, so Silvagni, Motlop, Gov [yes, I know..], Kemp, Newman, Haynes, Lemmey, Carroll, and possibly Wilson... but for some [eg Gov, Haynes, etc], just 1 year deals). Try to move on some others (eg: Boyd, Acres...)

Consider all offers for ANY player over 28 years age at end of year

New coach who won't take shit. For me, that's a Longmire type...

Change of leadership team in 2026 (senior coach to choose)

And our Board and back room backers to cough up so we don't have to worry about soft cap over next couple of years to effect such changes...

That's just where I'm at today...

How much of what we saw in Collingwoods better drilled structure was attributed to Carlton's effort/gameplan?

And

How much of what we saw in Carlton's gameplan can be attributed to Collingwood's better drilled structure?

If this was a one off that would be a reasonable question.

We now have years of data to draw conclusions from and for me it's that:
we have a very defensive structure that relies on hard running
we are often unstructured going for ward with the ball
our best play is instinctive or relies on a player beating his opponent, not team structure

Didn't watch the game, but have seen the comments from Voss and Curnow post game. They're just hollow words that mean nothing. Either put up or shut up. They could have said the same thing for the past two weeks.

We've become a complete joke of a footy club.

Charlie simply acknowledged a couple of opposition players before the first bounce, much like most players do with handshakes. It wasn't like a "hey mate, how ya going" high five at all.
Nothing to see here.

The reason it's become a storm in a teacup is because his behaviour isn't that of a dedicated professional athlete.
His personal life seems more important than his 'work'. He puts in limited efforts on the field. He's paid (and marketed!) as a leader.

Being taken off with a calf injury and less than a week later riding his bike to the game wearing Birkenstocks is again a small thing but when you add them all together it paints a player disengaged from the club but being paid a significant fraction of our salary cap.

This the same Nathan Buckley who decimated the youngest premiership side because he couldn't work with them?

Funnily enough I'm hoping to see history repeat. Buckley had a highly rated team with injuries that couldn't implement his extremely structured defensive plan and then attack successfully when they had the opportunity.

A new coach (and a generational talent) who redirected the highly drilled structure into a more workable outcome turned that group into what could be a multi premiership team. A few changes to the list with two big ticket players traded out to ease the cap and enable a deeper squad...

We have 'better players' apart from daicos but less leadership density.

Can history repeat?

One vote for Brock v Kirk pre season style!

Like every blues tragic pretty deflating few weeks.

Season on & off the field has been horrible.

How one team can have so many poor kicks centre & forward of the ball is beyond all of us ... even simple handballs missing or landing at the team mates feet. # TURNOVERS

We need to target as many goal kicking / fleet footed players to kick at score week to week even if we need to trade out some decent players.

Trading out popolar players which in theory wasn't so bad but now we lack depth especially midfiled & possibly in the fabric of the group.

Williams was our most electric player the past couple of weeks only to get injured .. again but think he just has to play forward / mid for remainder of his time at the blues.

The confidence in our senior players looks gone Cripps , Charlie , TDK, Acres, Cerra to name afew.

Not all doom & gloom if we can get some Quality in the door & keep banking games with the likes of Cowan , Carroll , Ofarrell, Ollie , Moir , O'keefe , Jagga & hopefully afew of the younger lads come on.

Be interesting to see how rest of season & off season plays out hmm 😒 🤔

And.. Pretty ordinary from Fox Footy to make it look like it wasn't , anything to put shit on us..
Please forgive the intrusion but Im pretty sure that Fox still takes the channel 7 video feed yeah?

Not like Channel Essendon to try and rub it in to our clubs any way they can and I'm not surprised that the brains trust over at Fox missed it either.

Charlie continues to play like he’s in the school yard trying to impress his mates with bombing ridiculous attempts at goal. He needs to grow up & take accountability…quickly becoming the joke of the league.
