Must say it feels concerning watching Weiters, he’s generally been such a proud player. He looks a bit how I feel about the team, trying hard but playing for himself. Just no energy or sense of real leadership that has always appeared so natural to him.
He needs some help!

Imagine playing on forward beasts when we turn the ball over so often.

Missing SOS & Saad without doubt.

Might even be missing Young? :)

I think we should bring in Levi Casboult as a Goal Kicking coach.
Don't stress, we have our old whipping boy Jordan Russell as our Forward coach, surely the correct choice considering his lofty AFL career highlights of........2 x VFL Premiership Captain and 1 x VFL State Captain after his AFL retirement

I’m sure it has been mentioned before, but we could be possibly be the worst team kicking the ball out from a behind or bringing the ball out of defence of all time.
Unbelievably bad…just kick it to the wing to (usually) the big blokes who are (mostly) out of position

In the end, that was fine.

Brisbane are defending premiers, almost injury free, on a winning streak.

We... are just not good. I say it every week but our list management has been so, so bad.

It's not fair to send out all of Cowan, O'Farrell and Carroll in the same backline, and have Young and Motlop and Lord and Moir all in the same team. Too young

I actually like all those guys in some form or another. But they aren't

And then some of the veterans - Cincotta came off the rookie list. Fantasia was a bargin pick up, as was Haynes. Fogarty is ok as a 22nd man. Pittonet and TDK don't bother playing well together. These guys are meant to be the end of the bench, not the core.

But the that's the list we have. The drop off from McKay isn't to a competent backup, it is to a rookie (O'Keefe) or someone hopelessly out of position. The backup to Saad is a rookie (Carroll). The backup to Silvagni was a second gamer (O'Farrell). The backup to Walsh was... No one (and pinch hitting Motlop?). The backup to Acres (playing injured for weeks) was no one.

How do you play or coach in that setup? I feel for everyone involved, it just sucks.

Effort was good, we got good games from Hollands and Cowan and a few others, but it's a tough watchr ight now

A lot of guys out there that shouldn't be.
Some of the younger players aren't up to it yet but they'll benefit from more time in the VFL.
I like the look of Moir. He just needs to relax a bit when he has a shot on goal and then things will turn for him.
Motlop is in the same boat too. Some of the things he does are outstanding, and yeah, some is like wtf but you can't blame young players with the lack of leadership that we have.

Someone mentioned weeks back that Crippa won't be captain next year?
I personally don't believe it, but if so, then make Cowan the captain.

He's exactly how we want this club to go about their football.

Well summarised.

We are missing 8-9 best 23 players, but the drop-offs are substantial as you said.

Unfortunate that we had no choice but to delist Marchbank, Martin, Cunners etc.

and as we know, terrible drafting from 2016-2019 has left us without mature depth.

Mitch hamstring awareness at end of the game

Mitch, Fantasia and Williams perhaps it’s best to let them go?

A combination of our key players being down on form this year, playing through injuries when and where they can and also being as checked out as what they are. Further, team is relying on a number of first and second year players to play at the level of hardened AFL players.

To the youngsters credits - mostly - they haven't dropped their heads too much and are up for the challenge. You just can't count on them to help produce winning football results and we won't be able to for another year or two.

Most of our vets are at the crossroads. Are they up for the fight? Do they want to remain committed knowing that it may take until 2027 or more likely 2028 before they see really positive results or are they that checked out that they would rather be elsewhere or retire?
There are some really damning questions in here. The answers scare me. Are players wanting to trade out of the end of the year? Weiters looks checked out for example. Are we building foundations of weakness into our young guns?

I think Brisbane have had the best list for 4 years now and gets better every year.

They really should be flag favourites.

Challenging run home for them but what an outfit when they get focused.

They play Dogs, Suns, Pies and Hawks and Dockers in Perth.

I reckon I’ll watch all of them just to see what they’re capable of.
And going to add Oscar Allen at the end of the year aswell. Look out for them next year.
