Round 2 in Poetry

The rookies from all over came,
With a price so low, they hailed their name,
"Get Tsatas in your squad!" the pundits cried,
FOS is a gun, his price would rise

But when the game kicked off, what did we see?
Davidson, my goodness me!
Few tackles, some kicks, no points to gain—
We were simply left with Rookie pain.

And those premiums, we trusted so,
They burnt our teams, their scores so low
A big score or two seemed all too late—
Our Supercoach hopes met an early fate.

Lachie burnt us and Sanders too,
Will we ever learn? Trade Round 2
Our anger built, our hand was dealt
The only thing to do was melt

But don’t lose hope, it’s still the start,
The season’s long, so don’t lose heart
With trades in hand, we’ll fix our flaws,
Rebuild our teams, rewrite the laws.

For hope’s not gone, it’s just delayed,
A few good picks and we’ll be saved.
The tide will turn, we’ll rise once more
Supercoach dreams? A massive score

I captained Sheezel this week and my horrid captaincy choices just about cost me the $50k in 2021, but it's part of the game. Keeps people engaged and makes it possible to make up ground on the leaders in the latter parts of the season. Remove captaincy picks and you're going to have a pretty stagnant top 100 at the pointy end.

What I would do though is remove access to captaincy % each week – you end up with tons of people doing the same thing and the leaders just playing it safe to hold on with the way it currently is.

I captained Sheezel this week and my horrid captaincy choices just about cost me the $50k in 2021, but it's part of the game. Keeps people engaged and makes it possible to make up ground on the leaders in the latter parts of the season. TBF ....the AFL wanted the sub to only apply to concussion protocols ....it was the AFL Coaches who were scheming to get access to subs for tactical / rotation purposes

First by expanding Subs to include all injuries ..then to allow for tactical subs ....the end goal for Coaches was a 5th interchange ....it was stealth in small bites

EVERY RULE EVER PROPOSED .....has been watered down by Coaches pressure, to the detriment of the game:
1. The push in the back rule
2 Goal line being treated the same as the boundary line

All Black & White decisions, that AFL Coaches wanted "grey" added back into interpretations

Just watch now the pushback on the 15 mtr interpretation for marks .....I'll put money on it being watered down

Hard to know I guess the more confidence he gets at AFL the better he's going to go.
And score.He looked pretty good and took some key intercept marks.

From the VFL...saints Wookie trav what's he's name and shoemakers played well.

Unsure if I go him or noddy for FOS.
North Finn looks to be a slow burn I think north got a gun.
But can't have a 200k Kentie on the bench.

Ken Bice Bruce scored out the box that forest gump was eating out of .
He's in next week he and us SCers can be peas and carrots .

Yeah, think FOS can work out, he showed some class, but you need Ashcroft- / Bice output at that price and everybody has a miss lime NOD or Reid.or COS or... that they might switch to.
Think NOD has been good despite limited TOG, reckon he'd my priority if that's what you're looking at. COS I wonder about Kolodjashni, but I suppose Stewart maybe being out a little makes that moot.
He'd be handy to make sure no Reid / Prior / Meghan Trainor on-field, they seem low output (Prior OK, tbd) once bye week scoring is out of the way.
Pereyman most traded out bloke in Australia, role.no good.

Yeah, Bice pencilled in so thinking COS maybe less of a 'must-have'. But who knows,.Z Reid confidence looked.shot on weekend, might get dropped, unfieldable anyway. Prior a touch better.

Had an absolute mare. Every year I seem to have a stinker in the first few rounds. Going to have to come from a long way back again.

Sheezel as C was a nightmare, was positive I had it on Rozee, only to end up in a town with no service Saturday to check. Rookie roulette did me dirty again. SPP on bench Kako on field. Had the reverse last week, can’t get these 2 right!

Tsatas on bench, Knevitt on field, same as above, had them opposite last week.

Between the C nightmare and rookie roulette left 100-120 points out there which is a load of ranking spots.

Yeah, tricky one as both have potential ins to put the squeeze on them, leaning COS but worried about Kolodjashnij return, especially if Stewart ends up missing one / none..

What I would do though is remove access to captaincy % each week – you end up with tons of people doing the same thing and the leaders just playing it safe to hold on with the way it currently is.

Going over old ground, but the solution for variation is to reduce the starting salary cap from $10M to $8M. Means teams will never reach full premo and instead the aim is to have a good mix of premos and the higher end midpricers. Brings another 50-60 players in to the SC scene.

IMO Erasmus and Banfield will make way for Young before Reid does. Who knows with Fyfe but on the last game, you'd think Voss goes before Reid too.

If COS keeps playing well Kolo will have to wait.

They might have Kolo play VFL for a week when we play an inexperienced Melbourne forward line in Round 4 (JVR, Jefferson, Johnson), but the big tests will be against Adelaide (Fogarty, Thilthorpe, Walker) and Hawthorn after that.

If we drop this next game against Brisbane and go into Adelaide 2-2 or even 1-3, Chris Scott may revert to the tried and true.
