Finally home. My thoughts…

Terrible early, not helped by some diabolical umpiring and every loose ball just happened to sit perfectly for a swan. Had resigned myself to a long night thinking why can’t we play against the swans, they just have our measure.

Then the third quarter happened. Wow. Just wow. Then steady in the last.

Cadman… glad he has re-signed. Certainly our most improved player. As young master noodle pointed out to me, 36 goals in his first 45 games over 2 years - 36 in the 19 so far this year. What I’m also really liking is the work he’s doing up the ground and off the ball - tap ons, shepherds etc. just some really nice footy.

I think we’ve found a player in Fonti. Yeah he’s got to work on some of his turnovers, but silky, smooth and with a step & swivel that is just glorious to watch. Rapidly becoming a favourite.

Some absolutely Angwin like turnovers from Angwin but he got back into it - and as most of you will know I’m not exactly his biggest fan - but the last couple of weeks (outside the first quarter tonight) have been pretty good. He’s doing ok.

Jesse giving it off to Ash for that long bomb… chef’s kiss.

Finn - deserved medallist. It’s no coincidence we played our worst footy this year when he wasn’t in the side.

Cogs - a couple of dodgy things, a couple of really good ones. A work in progress coming back from injury. Rowston unlucky, but might remain unlucky for a couple more weeks at least, but clearly the replacement in waiting.

Epic ruck battle. Briggs out pointed but not humbled. Grundy was Sydney’s best player imo, but it was fun to watch.

Uncle Toby had a forgettable night (apart from that goal) but Paply is fat, so at least he was being honest.

What was looking at one point to be a rather depressing evening turn into something all together more pleasant.

A good night.

Hopefully Toby isn't suspended. A great performance from many players. I didn't think we where that bad in the first qtr, more the Swans played well. A tough challenge vs dogs, win and i think top 4 is quite possible ( although hard to see many upsets from the bottom 9. I think freo losing to Sydney it is about the only loss in last 30 or so clashes between top and bottom 9

Fun night - after half time. Sets us up nicely.
Cogs ended up justifying his selection. I can't remember the last time our mids dominated theirs.
Once the tackles and pressure built up, they wilted.
That 3rd quarter goal spree was just amazing to witness. Some outrageous goals that knocked the wind out of them.
Did the commentary mention that Toby was put on his arse before the first bounce?
The Swans were totally going at him and of course the retaliator gets the attention.

Buckley might get a rest for at least a week to get his ankle right. Opens the door to Aleer.
Rowston for Kelly if he can't get up in 6 days.

EDIT: Kingers said both look to have calf injuries and expects them to miss weeks :(

Anyone brave enough to go to the Sydney Swans board to convey our sympathies now that their season is over, and our best wishes for the remaining 4 games?
It’s the usual posters turning on each other Clicky groups piling on and the obligatory virtue signalling and pearl clutching Good on you guys tonight Best of luck for the rest of the season 👍
