Hopefully Kingsley is hammering into them, "PERCENTAGE".

Even if they lose.
Yes - this. This game is lost and all we can do is try to win the quarter and minimise the margin of loss. Currently our % has reduced by a massive 5.8% already. We are back to having the 8th best %, and are just 0.9% ahead of Fremantle. All the great work of the past couple of months undone - we have a quarter to stop the bleeding

Hopefully we can get it back against north next week

126 points was the previous ever highest score by the Bulldogs against us. That score will probably be beaten tonight - we really miss Buckley.

What a disappointing and devastating loss. I thought we would probably lose, but never expected the game to be effectively over by the 1st quarter. The greatest losing margin against the Bulldogs in our history, and continues our dismal recent record against them.

I was so looking forward to witnessing some Giants history as a win would have meant it would have been a club record 6 consecutive away wins in a row, as well as s (equal) club record 7 consecutive wins. The club record streak of 6 consecutive 100+ points is also now gone. Oh well - life goes on.

All we can do is console ourselves that 3 superstars were not playing, and that we can’t be this bad and outmatched again. Let’s move on by making a statement win against Norths next week.

**** I was wrong thinking GWS could do some damage in finals, they are weak as piss. Good teams don't perform like that in such important games. Big tough Captain Toby Greene can go home and have another end of season cry now.

They might, but probably won't. Too much of the team is either 22 and younger or 30 and older.
Too much depth lost last year.

Any intel on Hogan’s injury? He looked pretty despondent on the bench
I assume the sore foot which has a screw in it. I wonder if he gets injections before a game sometimes?
Hogan has had a good career, hopefully gets to 500 goals. If not for injury, probably would have got 800 goals. His best was i think slightly better than Hawkins and Jack Reiwoldts, but clearly not the same situation injury wise those guys had.

I would rest Hogan next week.

The Suns' game is Sat 16 Aug - that'll give him over 2 weeks to sort out the injury.

But I wouldn't be the least surprised considering his despondency on the bench in the last quarter whether that injury is season-ending.

Tonight also showed that we have a number of VFL level players who will probably always struggle in the firsts i.e. Aleer, McMullin, Angwin. Break glass in emergency type players.

Oh and Coniglio? Retire gracefully at the end of the year. You're well and truly past it. Very uninspiring performance from a stand-in captain.

Gee a week is a long time in footy. We’re now in serious danger of missing the finals if we lose to GC and other results go against us. Hawthorn and Freo have a tough run too, so it’s all up in the air still.

Whatever happens there’s a very good chance a team will finish the year 15-8 and yet miss the finals on percentage.

I thought they'd lose coming off the big game last week and the bulldogs midfield is absolutely elite compared to basically a two man midfield of Callaghan and Green battling away every week. But still didn't think it would be that bad, it was like watching the dogs v Essendon every year, but the dogs can do that to a lot of teams.

Disappointed Rowston didn't start, they needed the depth going through there of actual mids with Kelly out, not other guys and young players trying to plug holes that aren't genuine mids. I realised Coniglio has had only two good seasons in the past 7 and one was 2019 from memory, they need to move on from prioritising him over other guys as he doesn't perform anywhere near the level required often enough.

Your probably right, they've had some uncharacteristic bad flat quarters this this year, but still produced a couple of excellent wins like against Brisbane, Geelong and the 2nd half against Sydney, that's the problem GWS is far too inconsistent now. Should have won the flag last year and then losing players like Peatling, Perryman and even Cumming has hurt.
