There is some light at the end of the tunnel if you wanna compare 2021 to 2025.

In 2021, North Melbourne was bottom 4 with 4 wins and a draw. Norths better players were the older blokes. North Melbourne culled the dead wood and aging players.

In 2025, North Melbourne got 5 wins and a draw. The difference is the better players were the younger guys aged 20 to 24.

Nick Larkey is my favourite player at North Melbourne. He is similar to Matthew Pavlich.

Pavlich played very few finals in his 20s.

Larkey will be 30 when North Melbourne plays finals. Not that it's a bad thing.

I think Larkey will constantly play food footy at 34 years old like Pavlich did.

It came, it went. Substantial yet nondescript improvement was made but we go into the offseason with very limited avenues for improvement thanks to some self sabotage in the previous offseason.

Larkey is 27 years old in 2025.

He turns 30 in mid 2028.

North Melbourne will be playing finals by then.

Larkey playing for North Melbourne means his body won't be travelling out side of Victoria every 2nd week.

Again, I still think we will consistently kick goals at 34 or 35 years old
