Gee, Supercars getting its own thread for each round, wasn't long ago this series was said to be dead on here!

As per the other thread, i also thought Cindric did well. I was surprised he went that well TBH. Tomorrow will be interesting.

Interesting... didn't realise there were 3 races this round. Thought it was just 2x 250km races, same as GC and Sandown.

I don't mind having it as 1x 100 and 2x 200 km, as it reduces the risk. Drivers can afford to have a bad race and still do well in the other 2. Well, they can afford it more than they could in the earlier Finals rounds anyway.

Could be a pretty wet race this arvo too which adds a bit of jeopardy.

Bit of weather around all weekend actually.

Gonna be a great weekend at the races which it always is at this event.

Cindric pretty impressive being just a second off the pace TBH.

He'll improve pretty quickly i would think, but he'll do well to finish each race on the lead lap.

Hes not your average "turn left" Nascar operator, but its a big ask to sit on the opposite side of the car and on this track.

It's always is in supercar, but thats 1 lap pace of course. Race pace is always different.
There's usually more than 0.1 seconds between the top-4. Agree that race pace is different though.

It doesn't hurt that they're running multiple laps (the times are from practice?), and this is their fastest times. It would probably be different if times were taken for a single lap, as in the TTSO.

Feeney on pole, Mostert 2nd... game on
It really does appear to be a 2-horse race for the Championship.

Under the old system, Payne would be the only driver still in with a chance of beating Feeney - and he would almost need Feeney to DNF all 3 races. Mostert would be nowhere close to winning.

I guess that's Finals for you...

Do you ever stop whinging ??

Not whinging, just making an observation. It's a simple fact that Mostert wouldn't even be a mathematical chance of winning the Championship under the old system, but under the Finals system he's an even money chance (with Feeney) to take home the title.

Love it or loathe it, is up to you - but those are the simple facts of the matter.

I'm not even sure if I love it or loathe it myself, so I'm definitely leaving it up to others to make up their own minds.

Could say the same about the AFL and any sporting comp with finals.
