By wearing a jumper for Pride? With both teams participating in the match/recognition, so any effect on performance (lol) cancels out.

I mean if people are so worried about their team having some colours on their jumper, there's always Collingwood.
Did the Saints give it the arse and will Essendon be doing anything

With Wicks out, have to play Rampe on Rachele. Hamling to defence, we need 3 actual lockdown KPDs this week, so Francis can return to the VFL.

Out: Wicks Bice (sub) Mills McLean
In: Melican McInerney Adams Buller
Sub: Bice

Good to see Fox and Harry might return, as two of my favourites, but must be via VFL.

I couldn't be any kinder , welcome . Grundy matched Max after Max's 1st goal and without him we lose by 15
Thanks for coming on board

I’ll take that as an apology. 🥇

Back to the discussion, my belief is that around the ground in marking contests, Gawn gave Grundy a serious lesson.

As far as Ruck contests, he probably did break even.

As already noted, I’m drawing my conclusion from Grundy’s marks from kick outs and marks in the forward line: I just got tired of seeing Gawn keep the ball in their forward line.

Part of it was a lack of presence, part was total disorganisation/bad coaching.

FYI Gawn 3 marks , Grundy 2 and Grundy had 6 more hit outs and 2 more disposals ! . No apology for the truth

It wasn’t a popular opinion Jewelsy. It was flattering at the time to have such a superstar want to come to our club. But he came for him. Buddy came for the $$$$$$$$ & not to immerse himself into the values of the club. The club went back to the bums on seats recipe that failed with Plugger & Capper & also to a lesser extent Hall.
Each one of those ended badly for our beloved club because each one of those went down the selfish individual/basket case club path.

Plugger came back in another embarrassing decision for our club. Too big & slow after a year not playing & out of shape & the coach (Eade) was overruled & compromised.
EMBARRASSING!

Capper was traded out (money) & then back, but failed because we sold the helicopter as well.
EMBARRASSING!

Bazza?
He was great under Roos because he was unselfish all the way to the flag. A few hiccups & a blessing when not suspended for stupidity in the prelim when he hit a bloke a mile away from the play. Should have missed the GF.
Happy he didn’t.
But then the ME ME ME started with Baz. At least the real leaders of the club, coach Roos & Captain Kirk laid down the Bloods law to him. He sooked it up. Some supporters wanted him gone, me included. Others wanted their usual “superstar Sydney crowd puller” there. He left for the Dogs, later commenting he wanted to be remembered as a Dog player(pardon the pun).

Now it’s Buddy’s turn.
Sure great got the near short term of the club. Got us into GFs we shouldn’t have been in. Great. But the silence since retirement is deafening, other than an appearance at a Hawks game some time ago.
Buddy is a Hawk. His best mates are lifelong Hawks. He was again unhappy to be forced out. Couldn’t train fully for a long time. Ultimately the club culture changes when you allow an individual certain graces that others aren’t allowed.
Warner is now on the big money.
Others aren’t. It his the club
Let them go.

Wait for it.
Now the drums are beating with
JUH rumours.
Please don’t Swans. Just don’t.
It has fail written all over it.
But hey.
BUMS ON SEATS!
There’ll be 25,000-30,000 bums on seats at the SCG by years end.
Make no mistake.
Rinse & repeat 40 years later.

Yep!
I miss the Roos/ Bloods era.
Done!

fans need to keep turning up and show we don't need the big fish then

Awful, but agree. It's less an indictment on Roberts and more a reflection of where the squad as a whole is at right now. Not focused or in it for the long haul.

Yeah forget who it was , that's not the issue, we have done this several times this year

The umpire is also asleep. Roberts has to stand as he can’t move even if Pickett breaks away as he had unless the umpire calls play on.

Roberts was looking around and annoyed before focusing on the umpire

This season will show Cox who are his types of players & those that suit his style of play. More importantly it'll highlight which type of assistant coaches he requires.
It's true but it will be difficult to get the cream of the assistants. So many with families and well settled elsewhere. Choice will be limited.

Maybe we can bring in someone like don Pyke where money wasn't a factor for him imo but the pull was a successful club.

As long as it's not Hinkley who'll be looking for work. Not much would make me give up on the Swans, but having him in the line of succession might.

Someone like Simpson maybe, at least he got success, after a fairly decent GF loss a few years earlier.

People like Shaw or Mattner with some connection to the club might be more achievable, purely as assistants.

I hope we will be looking in every dark corner! For us outsiders it's so hard to know where our weak links are in the coaching ranks (or even if there are any!). Lots of opinions maybe but SFA knowledge. It's even worse with potential coaches outside the club. As with players we have to trust the club to recruit best available.

Hinkley would be interesting as a mentor role

Simpson would be a great get as long as he could go back to being an assistant. Have to be senior. Clash with Spike?
Shaw brilliant but he's attached to Gold Coast AFLW. Pity.
No idea about Mattner.
Hinkley is hard to love isn't he. Reminds me of a frog.
I think we're more likely to be successful attracting younger, ambitious assistants, much like Cox was.
