We will see. I am not sure you want 6 eighteen-year-olds running around in your backline. As I said Jeremy Howe is currently in career best form. And he is taking it year by year, but he has a long-term plan. Never say Never.
Who is this "you?" Do you not see the team I have listed as who I barrack for?

You is just a generic term. I am sure as a Taswegian, that you will want the Tasmanian team to be successful and if you don't then it is any other Taswegian who does want the team to be successful.

TJ has plantar fasciitis at the moment, so he will need to get a run of form before he can be considered. Hayes is a reasonable candidate but at his size, he'll likely never offer much in terms of overhead marking, so he'd be a very different option to fill that role.

Hayes overhead marking is one of his strengths I’d say. Has clunked some rippers in the VFL. Haven’t seen him flying for speckys the way WHE does yet but is that about ability or opportunity? I don’t know, but very strong hands and brave is what we’ve seen thus far.

Because he's 23 years old and has played way more state league footy than any of them, and was specifically drafted because he's good, he's ready to play, and he fits our system.

Many of our mature age MSD draftees have come into the side fairly soon after being drafted - John Noble played 5 games (including two finals) in the season we drafted him, Ned Long played 7 after getting picked up last year, Josh Carmichael played 7 games the year he was drafted.

Wil Parker played 5 games last year, debuting before before a number of listed players, despite not only joining the club well after pre-season, but having only played 5 VFL games, his only organised games of footy in years. I would've thought that would've been much more "harsh", and it still happened.

I'm not sticking 19 year old Noah Howes in the side ahead of Brody Mihocek - I'm saying 23 year old Roan Steele, who had 24 disposals and a number of intercept marks from hard defensive running and good anticipation, would be suitable to fill a role similar to the one that Will Hoskin-Elliott plays if his form remains good for the next few weeks.

Round 17 or 18 is the earliest I think MSD picks have gotten a senior game. Even Long who’d been in our system at VFL level all year only debuted in R18. Parker who started during preseason in R12. They give these guys time to learn before they throw them in at senior level. Steele may well buck that trend and get a run before R17, but I doubt it, especially given there are other options available. Time will tell.

You keep hearing Ryan is an 'interceptor' but is he really when it happens a couple of times every other game. He should earn that reputation when he does it often on a regular basis.

His intercepting is 1 of the few consistent strengths he is showing, both spoils and marking

I keep hearing he’s a good kick on both sides but a munged panic kick of 25m on Saturday is the first time I’ve ever seen him use the left. He used to run out of kick-ins onto his left and then have to straighten onto his right to kick it, bringing pressure to the kick.

I keep hearing he’s got good pace but we see very little evidence of that offensively given he goes back behind the mark nearly every time gesticulating to all and sundry that he’s going long as it’s the only remaining option he has given how long his gesticulating takes. We rarely ever get to see him participate in fast break handball transitions either so I think “good pace” is code for good closing speed.

I’m still hopeful given we’ve got him for 2026, but it’s fading fast.

My ex girlfriend was a gesticulater, to the point where she forgot I existed

I think you've opened a can of worms there.
Then there's Americans, who have to be different on everything.
They pronounce human "youman".
And don't get me started on "entree", which is the word they use for a main course.
They probably just had to be different to the British.

Americans have Y'all in their dictionary, that speaks for itself

Yep and even their gallons are different, strangely enough their gallons are smaller than Imperial gallons.
Americans usually like to be bigger than everyone else.
Aluminum instead of aluminium is the one that always gets me.

Also, why have the ignorant dickheads refused to implement the metric system like the rest of the universe?
