He’s the one I’d almost guarantee we lose or Frampton if we have another KPD on the hook.

IMO, he’s not fit. He didn’t have the power to go with Moore when they engaged and then pushed off to contest the mark. It’s something in his legs. The problem for him is it’s probably one where you have to play through at 80% and 80% in that depleted Carlton team when you’re one of the stars is very noticeable.

TDK is the one that’s really checked out. They were talking about it on SEN crunch time saying “they need to get into a room together and thrash out his future” yet none of them put two and two together that it’s probably already happened…
I think it was mentioned Curnow has a hip issue-which they thought might be aggravated by the hard landing that subsequently forced him to the bench for a short time.

Spot on. TDK is gone, good luck to him too. He’s got as much chance of finals at the Aints and a bucketload of money to go with it.
Curnow doesn’t work hard enough. A product of his environment.

I think they'll be coming for Parker also if he's not contracted for next year

Ya'll can bite my a**

But heard you're into Sam Flanders quite a lot
I hope you’re right. He’ll be worth recruiting purely for the “stupid sexy Flanders” gifs.

He has a contract for 2026 (not that it means anything these days) but he did hit a trigger last year for an extra year.

Pretty sure we gave him 3 years for the full cat B term. I doubt we’d have gotten him otherwise given the level of interest from other clubs.

I think ryan will eventually demand a trade.
Just look who are in front of him, maynard,q,houston, perryman, josh daicos, and other mids like pendles and crisp who occasionally rotate through the half back.Which will be the case until end of next year, so the only way he is coming in if any of the above get injured.

Don’t think he is good enough aerially to take over howe’s spot. He could take take perrymans spot and allow pez to move into the midfield , but it seems parker is ahead of him in term of preferred small/mid defender.
The question is, who wants him.

If I was a recruiter at another club I wouldn’t have too much interest in a medium defender with a limited offensive game.

I think even sooner if they had've had the salary cap to have added Houston.

Add Houston and Newman into that team. Turn the salary saving and pick from TDK into a quality small forward and find a couple more cheap competent outside runners and that list would be a chance if they were well coached.

But think their cap is going to be too tight to do much.
They need to look for some Joe Richards and Roan Steele types in the state leagues.

It's more common these days to let them go. We went through a stage where clubs preferred to hold them to their contract but the last 5 to 10 years It's more common to let them go

Has Collingwood ever forced anyone to stay when they've asked to be traded?

Wait until you see Smith. He’s not Naicos, but he’s going to be every bit as good as the Ashcroft’s from day dot.

From my perspective adding Walsh, Newman, Smith, Hollands and Cody Walker (likely 2026 top 3 pick) along with whatever they get from TDK and a probable McKay trade sets them up well especially if they can nail the bolded. They have most other pieces and are an astute coaching choice away from GW looking like the club whisperer.

I’m more than satisfied having watched him that he’s more than capable on his left- preferring his right, makes him no different to the vast majority of players.

Yep, hard to provide a link to VFL footage of something that's never happened. I'll leave it there.

Their biggest issue at the moment is how cooked Cripps looks. He's either playing injured or he'll be a non factor in what they do 2027 onwards with Walker.

Checkers is like Bruzzy, bleeds black and white. He’s after some dollars and I hope we can give him what he wants but I’m sure we’ll give him enough to stay.

I reckon the security of time would be a bigger draw for Checkers at this stage of his career. We'll likely never match the duration he'll get offered to lure him away (the FA tax suitors will pay), so he'll have a tough decision to make. I hope he stays but could fully understand him leaving.

Curnow is so talented but has been badly coached. He just runs to the space, even if it makes the kick to him really low percentage. It's why his goals come in shellackings when the Blues are running through the lines and they can get the kick to the space he's led into. And in finals when there's heat on the kicker they just can't get kick to where he's led.
