Imagine if we could snag SDK via trade for a first rounder and one of LDU/ER as a RFA

Maybe! I’m not sure we want to lock in a Ruck/Forward on 900K+ when we’ve committed a fair bit to Steene/Smit and soon to be Condon who all look promising anyway.

Yep, unless the afl step in and nominate an alternative as our level 1 compo will effectively be 19 (), or the same as an end of first round pick (level 2).

Agree. We're going to be losing multiple players through retirement. Not a chance we'd be letting any of these guys leave.

Seems that way with his recent surge in form, links to the club, obvious fit for our speed/pressure-based game plan and our approaching need for another mid.

He’d also probably be a bit cheaper, to boot! I’d take him over LDU

Depends on retirements, but I suspect we'll go for a 2022 style recruiting period - quantity rather than top quality/top dollar - although we did get quality also that year.

Unless someone really surprises this year, a mature tall defender looks a must.

There are. I just think when push comes to shove, there will be retirements/shoves and we'll need to add to our depth like we did in 2022.. one high priced guy is possible, but think a kpd is more likely than a mid.
