Jai Serong from the Hawks is worth keeping an eye on. He’s OOC this year. Perfect time to poach him. He’s very unlikely to get a game at Hawks soon.

They should abandon that whole desperate strategy and just keep hitting the draft. Snagging one good player on stupid coin isn't going to help them. They need the entire cake, not just the icing

None of these are headline acts but a few would slot into our needs with our current list . Don’t have to sell the farm for any of these probably other than Leek

Only ones l would look at are:

Leek Aleer, could be a very good support for Moore down back. Probably the exact player we're looking for in our back 6.

Blight, Looks really impressive. Huge upside, and looks to play the key defensive role easily. Very good contested marker too...

Schoenmaker, again would be handy in our back 6. Could be a Battle type of defender for us. Again huge upside.

But it is the Saints, might take a hair cut if he's at all interested in having a bit of success in his football career, beyond the number that shows on his pay check.

We're not really in the race, given we wont offer as long of contract as the others.

I'm fine with this.

We have three senior level key forwards who are good for at least the next couple of years, with West showing nice (very) early signs.

The deal it seems we would have to offer Oscar to get him out seems disproportionate to his injury/degenerative issues.

Watching the Hawks vs Kangas VFL game I thought Henry Hustwaite looked good he had 38 disposals and 12 clearances.

I also completely forgot about Zane Duursma (pick 4 in the 2023 draft)

I looked at his VFL stats and understand why he isn't playing senior footy but also wonder if he is being played out of position as a forward instead of a mid. There are so many ahead of him, wonder if it might be worth getting in his ear when. he becomes out of contract in 2026.

Lastly I remeber Cal Twomey saying Mitch Knevitt is someone to keep an track on - maybe if Geelong go after anothing big fish in the midfield.
