Sounds like the exact player we need but unfortunately our brain dead list manager /recruiting staff thought it was a good idea to trade our pick to the tiges fecking hell

If we’d made the right moves - we’d be minimum near the top 8.

As bad as we've been at trading the last 20 years, we can't stay in a state of perpetual rebuild,
Fans don't have the patience to keep rebuilding through the draft and we're just throwing young kids to the wolves.
There needs to be a balance of mid 20 year old players and 2-3 draftees, otherwise the list will skew far too young.
The compromised drafts and our own FS/NGA needs will complicate things as well going forward, so the draft is probably not going to be the sole thing that's going to get us where we want to go.
I'm terrified about who we might bring in as well, but we're going to have some hits and misses.
For every Melksham/Lever/May/Langdon that Demons hit on, they had some misses with Bugg/Tyson/Balic etc.
We've had more misses, so it's hard to have much confidence in us drafting/recruiting at anything close to a 50% hit rate.

All I will say is Whitlock had better turn out good. I didn’t see him play in his one senior game and I haven’t seen any vfl games so how is he travelling.

Duff Man will be a good player, but likely a bit of a Tim English type from what I've seen.
He's going to need as much time as Goad has needed in the gym before he gets anywhere near the ruck.
I'm not going to lose much sleep over him given we've taken Goad as that type of athletic ruck already, so for me Josh Lindsay or Aidan Schubert I think are better fits for us that we potentially missed out on.

THREE-CLUB RACE FOR LION

North Melbourne is believed to be one of multiple clubs “circling” free agent Brisbane defender Brandon Starcevich, who continues to weigh his playing future.

The Kangaroos, understandably in search of defensive reinforcement amid another campaign in which they’ve struggled stemming opposition attacks, join Essendon — which reportedly has “strong” interest — and West Coast, with Starcevich hailing from Western Australia.

“He’s been assessing his options after returning to Brisbane’s side in recent weeks ... the Lions would like to retain him; they’ve tabled a deal for him to stay, but he has interest from clubs around the country,” said journalist Riley Beveridge on AFL Media’s Gettable.

“Notably in Victoria, Essendon has strong interest, as does North Melbourne; another club that has circled Brandon Starcevich... West Coast also has some interest in Starcevich.”

The 26-year-old has had his struggles with concussion but is back in Brisbane’s side — having played in its past seven games — as it shapes another tilt at a premiership.

Starcevich remains an integral cog in the Lions’ back half alongside Harris Andrews and Darcy Gardiner, with Jack Payne struck down for the year and former Crow Tom Doedee still yet to make his club debut.

Starcevich and Windhager (still unsigned) would completely reinvent our defensive capabilities across the ground.
