Fully agree.

May be difficult to find suitors. I can't see him going to a challenging team as they have their mids sorted too.
I’m not convinced there’ll be a whole lot of interest given his salary and what he’d cost in a trade.

He might be in for a bit of a reality check.

Which is why he hasn’t officially requested a trade

I think he knows it’s unlikely also but wants to ask around first

Plus I think even if he did ask there’s a strong chance we hold him to contract anyway

This one I can’t see going anywhere so won’t even discuss potential trade options for

Prepare yourself, Jy just jumped off the bus.

The Simpkin trade has to be for a player that fills a need, trading for draft picks doesn’t help us now.
Depends, let's say for arguments sake that Spargo takes Jy's spot in the team and say we're trading for a player like Windhager / Jack Steele, which is independent of Jy leaving, I'd love to get a pick in a range that we could use on someone like Riley Onley.

Agree and it is a little bleak in that context.

My worry is without Jy we are a 'worse' side next year (relatively) unless we replace with a player in a position of need. Albeit we'll have some overall improvement Jy is at his peak and has versatility - he is important for that improvement. I wonder what LDU and Larkey think of this. Both have signed long term and no doubt sold on the climb up the ladder is not too far away.

The club will need to manage this carefully. Get the best return (assuming he finds suitor) that still sees us climb the ladder but more importantly the messaging to the rest of the playing group will need to be on point.

We can't be seen as going backwards.
Wonder if Jy would want out of Parker hadn’t taken so much midfield time and CBs..?

Agree with this; I suspect if the club rules out paying any part of his salary then there will be radio silence

note entirely as we/the coaches have made the call that he has fallen down the engine room pecking order.
Changing his role isn't pushing him out the door, that's a structural decision for the benefit of the team. Someone else posted that he agreed to the role change and has now decided he doesn't like it, which is completely fine people are allowed to change their mind but make no mistake this is Jy's decision not the clubs.

I am guessing the only reason he was given what he was earning was because we had to spend our TPP cap and I would imagine a lot of it was brought forward.

Besides we do not have cap space issues, we could pretty much carry his entire contract if the trade offer was good enough.

I would be surprised if there was much interest for non-monetary reasons.
