Were we originally into him or was it just a few on here that wanted North to draft him?

Port kept trying to throw him into the JHF deal and we didn't want him.

I was glad we said no, but he probably would have been better than ending up with Fisher and Daniel instead.

Was staggered he had 28 in the first half. Did not feel his influence at all. #56, whoever he is, and Van Rooyen, far more noticeable. We're not missing out on anything

What are your thoughts on Cooper Whyte from Werribee?

He has some nice athletic traits particularly his closing speed when playing as a defender. Best skills, but would probably need to take his game to another level at VFL level before getting back on clubs radars.

As a side note it’s not too often previously delisted Geelong players reach their potential at other clubs.

Cheers, just heard a club(not us) may be interested. I watched him today, he was ok.

Still think if Brew was on our list he’d be playing. 35 and 8 tackles again today, in conditions that admittedly did suit.

Thats not what happened on draft night. The football department felt they had the list and didn’t need that pick any longer, it was a fire sale. You dont trade your future first if you think its going to be pick 1 or 2. They honestly felt they were shooting up the ldder. You can clearly identify this with all the bullshit spin of “no more excuses” “enough talking” rhetoric in pre season.

They ****ed up and its not because of Daniel.

To be perfectly honest i think the correct call would have been to trade pick #2 ( FOS ) I know you all love him
But the offer from Richmond to North was #2 for #18 + #20 which looks terrible when you look at the numbers but it would have been Harry Armstrong & Luke Trainor and North could have used this years 1st rounder on CDT or Ludowyke
Both Trainor & Armstrong were touted top 10 talents during the year.
