Sphynx would you really put more two drafts worth of chips into the midfield via butters, before addressing KP's, outside run, small fwds?
Yes.

And retrospectively delist Zurhaar 2 years ago because Brayden George had better athletic testing results.

Darling, Parker, Corr probably McDonald (and possibly Tucker if he gets delisted) are the only players on that list who couldn't play till 2029/30.

Logue, Fisher and Daniel are all under 30 and the first two were drafted in the same draft as Jy, Souv and Zurhaar. If those 2016 guys do learn from Parker and Darling and can stay on the park then we'll have some good long term leadership.

I would say no ? anymore on Logue (he's been fine since he came back from injury) and we'll see about Parks. He could really get a whiff of a chance at something special at 34/35. I'd be more than happy for him to play as 22nd man then. Darling won't make it, same for Daniel. I don't particularly care if Fisher or Tucker does or doesn't. I hope doesn't and we upgrade them both.

We still have to potentially find room for a few of: Duursma, Archer, MWhitlock, Goater, George, Maley, Goad.

Because of his draft position or is he actually good?
He's pretty much a 190cm version of Will Phillips. You could probably end up giving a straight swap for the two.

Probably needs to shift clubs to get the best out of himself, new challenge and all that, same with Will.

He has some great form in the wafl but can't crack into the midfield above some others. If Will goes would be a handy replacement of the right age bracket.

I don't think we should look at anyone who isn't tallish for the midfield and certainly not quick.

They are two absolute prerequisites, pace and height.

Question for the VFL watchers on 2 Dogs players:
1. Jordan Croft. 201cm father son pick 15 odd a few years ago. Hasn't played seniors to my knowledge. Is it due to better options ahead of him? Not up to it?? Worth a crack???
2. The old favourite Jed Busslinger. Gets talked about every offseason so far. Doesn't play seniors also. Same questions as Croft. More likely to go back to WA if he was to leave?

I love Butters, but I feel like we might get what he brings in time with FOS when he ends up in the middle.
I think we need more height and transition running through the mid/wing/hbf, kpp depth and a gun small fwd.
If you could use Powell and Goad in a player trade, that might be better vs picks, but I don't think he's picking us anyway.

If we were to go after another key defender this offseason, we’d have a lot of players we could target.

Blight, Serong, Busslinger all present as relatively cheap options that are AFL quality and young.

Blight can be a guy who plays on the monsters, whilst Serong could be a great athletic 3rd tall with a nice kick.

Would much rather either over Corr / K Dawson and both could play with any combo of Whitlock / Comben / Pink.

Derksen the other one but I assume he’d go to Melbourne.

At long last we’re at the point where we have enough players to make a team and a decent amount of promising depth.

We should be prioritising players that will move the needle by being significant upgrades on incumbents. We don’t want “good value” Gruzewski who can give us an extra ok option, we want the May/Lever equivalents, 23-25 year olds in AA contention in positions of need.

I reckon WC will come hard for Busslinger being a WA native. I really rate him but probably a bit too similar player to Whitlock I reckon.

I can’t wrap my head around why Richmond aren’t playing Blight. It’s not like they are well stocked for tall defensive options. I know he is on the slow side but he has pretty good IQ and natural feel for positioning and one on one defending.

I’ve mentioned before that I’d be keen on Derksen as a cheap swingman option and I’d probably be equally as keen on Blight.

Miller has been decent for them, think their Pink. Then Balta is an unstoppable guy for them - I’d personally play blight over him right now. Gray and Trainor as young talls too who I rate. Then Vlaustin and Broad as medium/3rd falls.

Sure ideally you want that. But picking up Gruz for a cheap pick 39 or F3, it may be better than using that in the draft.
If he replaces Ford or Kal Dawson, gives us some insurance forward or back (Zane contract status? Medium defender), and builds out the squad depth, it might be a smart incremental improvement.

Yes.

Just as Brisbane did with Neale.

Butters has the potential to be our version of the Neale pickup imo.

You are right in that we have invested plenty in the midfield, but fortunately some truly unique flexible ones have fallen out way in Sheez, Colby, FOS and Duurs. We can afford a big name mid with the ability to play these top end kids across other areas of the park.

With LDU’s form this year and Powells form (sorry, 2 weeks doesn’t cut it), we still need better.

Hes in the best 10 players in the comp and will be a MVP/Brownlow contender for the next 3-4 years.

You absolutely put your chips in if you have a chance at that, they rarely move and we’ve developed only Boomer in the last 2 decades that fits that classification (maybe Xerri at the moment)

You back the fact he might catapult us up the table and those F1’s suddenly end up picks in the teens.

We play finals next year with Butters imo.

I’d be willing to trade Powell the other way if need be.

You don't rate W Dawson for that KPD gorilla role?

I understand he's put on 14kg since he's been at the Club.

He's projecting as a deadset beast of a lad.

I know they've swung him forward lately but I see him as a long term lock down back.

He may end up being that. We could also pick up Cody Curtin if we trade up in this years draft, big monster, could potentially play straight away at either end or even the ruck.
