Its going to be tough for the club to have a trade and free agency period that the supporters approve of. Perhaps the safest approach is to do nothing at all and try and improve on field to put them in a better position to attract players in 2026. The players that might be in reach are deemed not good enough, and the players that supporters want us to go after aren't attainable.
Windhager
Davies/tsatas/sam butler
McVee

Otherwise do nothing for mine and just hit the draft with 20,21 and 39 and/or get blight or Lemmey as a dfa

Spargo likely to be a list clogger for us. I really don’t understand that at all. Would be for nothing but still I do agree with afew and would have preferred to keep Eddie over him.

Tsatas I’ll defend alittle…. If the price is right which is our last pick or f4 or something equivalent pairing him with a great mate in Wardlaw and another friend in Sheez we may be able to squeeze the talent he was drafted for out of him. I do also realise former early picks are often a trap to draft. Struggling to think of any situation it has worked? May also be worth assessing Duurs with a similar concern….

On a look back there was a sticky for the draft order (thread 3) and the free agents list (thread 1), can't see anything like what you are reminiscing about. Maybe giantroo remembers more 9to be fair, it would have been him maintaining it).
It was probably unpinned and it's somewhere in the thread. Happy to do it again if that's what you all want.

Parker is a multi-B & F winner and club captain, Darling multi-club leading goalkicker, both of them All-Australians. Both in their 30s and targeted as much for the intangibles (leadership) as for their on-field capabilities.

Spargo and Tsatas probably wouldn't even make our best 23.

Honestly, what's the point? If they won't improve the side, either take those spots to the draft or leave one open for an SSP selection over summer.
I'm fully aware of Darling and Parker's credentials, why we traded for them and what they brought to the team. However this time last year All in Sunbury were questioning the looming recruitment of Darling in particular and to a lesser extent Parker.

My point, in case you missed it, is IF we do acquire Spargo and / or Tsatas I hope that they can play better than our expectations and contribute to improving the team.

No guarantee that they do, I'm just trying to remain open to the possibility of them not being a shit as everyone says they are.

I don't mind taking a punt on Tsatas.

Finds the ball, good size. Could do with more bulk.

We dont really have a tall ball winner in the mix.
187cm isn't very tall. I'd rather take a late draft pick on Sullivan Robey, Finn Davis or Jett Dahlitz who can use the ball a lot better than Tsatas and have more powerful frames.
If true, it shows me we haven't learnt that we need to add a taller and stronger framed mid that can run and use the ball.

What were his underage strengths? It was a pretty hot draft so even to push top 10 he must have done something well?

Would he be any chance to become a contested/defensive inside mid?
Should never have been ahead of Humphrey or Phillipou. Not even in the same ball park.

Surely we get an answer on windhager soon also
Yea mate hopefully. Surely Saints money is running out if they’ve signed Silvagni as well. Liam Ryan doing a medical and also Leek Aleer is being thrown about around at Moorabbin.

How the **** do they think they’ll fit them all in under the salary cap?

At least Spargo is a FA, but is he a better prospect than Banch, Hansen, Konstanty, Harvey & Payne? This whole bunch could be dead wood by the end of 2026 if they are not already.

We have absolutely no need for a midfielder who can’t kick and lacks physicality. I mean seriously why is this even a debate? I don’t care if titsarse is Wardlaw’s mate.

I'd argue out of those players only Tsatas and Butler might be gettable. McVee would be great but seems destined to stay at Melbourne or head back to WA. Davies played the last couple of months at Gold Coast and would have plenty of suitors around the league should he choose to move. Similar with Windhager. I just don't think we're in a position to compete for talent when there is 4 or 5 other clubs that are interested.

I've heard on the quiet that certain plans from Geelong's headquarters have gone missing, hence nobody's talking about it.🤨
