Hahaha. I was just thinking the other day that Sholl is the exact sort of player we'd go after. Seeing him mentioned specifically at all concerns me.

Leave him alone, North
Makes sense, pretty sure he stepped up with a Kerridge-worthy performance against us a few years back.

Players go to those clubs because they get more prime time games which means more eyeballs which means more opportunities for sponsorship deals which means more money. It also helps that they are rich, big clubs with high membership numbers and the ability to offer better facilities, and opportunities after footy.

The AFL can't fix the equalisation problem until it acknowledges it gives big clubs an (in)advertent leg up by continually scheduling them in marquee slots and Friday/Thursday nights, which it will never do because they also want to make as much money as possible. And they are far far more likely to put a product on TV that showcases Petracca vs Dangerfield vs Daicos vs Ginnivan vs Neale vs Cameron vs Cameron vs De Goey, as opposed to Riley Hardeman vs Bailey Banfield vs Jack Sinclair

So round and round we go, where the big names get bigger and the big clubs get bigger and the rich clubs get richer and the clubs who cant attract free agents get the crumbs off the side of the table

They’ll let it fester for another decade before slapping on a bandaid fix that has no real impact to buy themselves another 15-20 years of bleeding dry the bank accounts of the 500k strong mAGpIe ArMy with 3rd generation Daicos Quintuplets merchandise

Key defender Jordon Butts is getting interest from North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs after losing his spot in the team this year after a lacerated lung.

Butts will be a free agent at the end of next season and the Crows have indicated to his management that they intend to extend his contract.

Wingman Lachie Sholl is another rival clubs could try to pounce on after he only played the five AFL games this year.

If I’m the Crows and I have a player in contract that is going to make a big difference to side they could play finals against next year then I’m saying we’ll trade you, but not to a side who could be in contention.

I dont think the club share your view.
I think it was a bit of both. I think Jason's heart was in it and his intention was probably to see out his contract before he joined port as agreed, but given the disastrous season with Noble and the hawthorn shit thrown on Clarko I reckon that boosted things.

Unfortunately at the time he was just a naive young kid who was easily influenced by peer pressure from port, his stepdad and his manager.

it doesn’t matter who we’re interested in, the only players who we will get are spargo and jackson.
I wouldn't have thought so. The club doesn't leak much to the media anymore due to their relentless shit on Clarko so we've spoken to quite a few players id imagine.

Doesn't mean you take 3 as you can upgrade rookies as well.

Clubs have to use at least three picks at the national draft, however that number can include upgraded players from their rookie lists.
That's a good point. We may only take two ND picks and upgrade a rookie given the draft depth.
We may trade up to one of the GC picks to get someone we want and upgrade 39 as much as possible and that's it.
I don't think the depth is as bad as has been made out, but definitely more speculative prospects late compared to last year.
Sounds like there may not be that many players picked late like in previous years given teams have NGA prospects and some want to trade into next year like Port. We shall wait and see what happens in trade week.

I find it hard to believe saints can attract better

We have just as much money and just cos they finished slightly higher doesn’t mean they are going to be better
