Cerra’s had his best year to date, IMHO.

He quietly assured, communicates well & seems well liked amongst the group.

Elevating him to the leadership group could be the very thing he needs to reach a new level in his game.

I think it’s worth a try next year.

JSOS is a no-brainer.

Agree on Form but I don't see him as a leader. Well maybe as one-of a group, but not as VC or Captain material.

Not sure - sometimes its about who would grow into the role. They've tried it with Charlie - but he seems a natural introvert, internally - until he kicks a goal!

Not a good look, but harsh to assume he's dodging fans or has checked out. Could be anything - personal commitments, medical appointments etc.

I'm assuming he's gone, but frankly with the way we've operated this year I don't blame him in the least. He's out of contract, is a free agent, and the club hoping he's "loyal" are on the cusp of sacking the third senior coach he's played under after absolutely imploding on-field.

Maybe he's part of the problem, or maybe he's just the fortunate one in a good position to get off the sinking ship.

Wow, that is not a good look. I attend a number of the open sessions, especially in the preseason. TDK is normally one of the first to the fence to engage with the kids, and one of the last to leave.

We can only speculate, but wouldn't be surprised if he's now detached himself from the supporter base with his impending decision. How could you justify getting selfies and signing apparel when you know you won't be there by the end of the year, and all those kids you've just engaged with are the ones you're about to let down.

Maybe he did have a prior, but it does add to the speculation.

I don't blame TDK, it's a product of the way the AFL structures free agency.

We all know he's gone and having to pretend he hasn't decided is clearly causing incredible stress. It's shit and he isn't a good enough actor to pretend he doesn't care.

Good luck to him, I think getting a good pick and freeing salary cap isn't a bad outcome for the club, as uncomfortable as this is for all parties

Could have been many reasons why ... not the least having to again put up with supporters who jump to the worst possible conclusion based on no facts whatsoever and who booed him on field last week.

Well it was someone I’m friends with who was working at the club today…not sure why they would need to ask him…can’t imagine he could do the full session but didn’t have the time to do 20-30 mins of signings…for the kids…who look up to him…who he is not going to cop any criticism from…just can’t see how he could pull on the jumper…we are out of finals contention…lemmey couldn’t be any worse up front

No judgement on TdK leaving or otherwise, but if he thinks the pressure on him at the moment is immense, wait until he has a bit of a flat patch at the Saints on a $1.7mill per year contract...and amplified if Wanganeen-Milera doesn't hang around.

Seriously though, there could have been any number of reasons why he didn’t stick around. I think the criticism is unwarranted and this is just another way supporters try to invent a scenario to channel their frustration/ anger.

No one was really putting pressure on Gibbs to stay and Bryce wasn't being forced to make a difficult decision of stay with your mates for unders or take a ridiculous offer from a club you would have otherwise have no interest in playing for, that will put incredible pressure on him when he isn't the best player in the comp next year. Maybe he should talk to Tom Boyd on what that is like.

Ps. I know an opposition player, who is idolised by all and sundry, who didn’t even bother with a dying child. No excuses for such behaviour, especially when all the group is partaking. Just a terrible look, to say the least.

Considering the club supporters have been Bronx cheering him, I can't blame him for not wanting to stick around. The supporter base, not all, have turned on him before the season is out so why would he want to hang around?

Yep.
He'd be subjected to an endless barrage of probing questions about his future plans. It's no one else's business, I'd find it tiresome.
