Probably not but they lose the ability for repeat efforts over and over. Their opponents would pick up on it and run you into the ground. The overall fitness wouldn't lose much.
The other thing, as my physio likes to put in really simple terms for my dumb arse, if you aren't doing as much, and then you suddenly ramp up doing a lot more, this is when you get hurt. So i imagine thats something to weigh up with Bobby having so little match play and inconsistent training for a while now.
Fans and AFL media tend to be a little anti-sports science, but if Bobby plays off little preparation does an injury early that puts us on the back foot in an important game, its the fitness staff who'll be looked at.
