I assume Baker has been taken off as a spare for tonight?

Not a heap of pressure on spots other than Jacques. Poulter was solid. Busslinger gets a lot of it but it’s generally easy ball and he struggles in the contest still.

Hmmmm, we don't really have anyone knocking on the door for a call up. Such a shame.

There were a few players who weren't positioned correctly at a stoppage a few minutes ago. It was meant to be a 'win game' set up but we had far too many players on the defensive side. Quite surprising because positioning is something you're taught as soon as you begin to play rep footy. There's no excuse at a high level of footy not to get your position right and understand game sense.

Don’t know about that Lachie Jaques will be knocking on the door soon for a call up

Yeah, he'd be one.

Baker and Poulter are just depth, Busslinger is a liability, Croft still inconsistent.

Lachie Smith is probably the other one who could be pushing for a debut by season's end.

Can't see how Buss doesn't play AFL next week with 25 touches at 3 quarter time.

Would like to get a few people's thoughts on this. I only saw the 2nd half and the end of the 2nd qtr.

I thought Barrat (the opposition full back) was just as good as Buss and he had 7 possessions for the game while Buss had 30 for the game. Buss gets a lot of meaningless possessions IMO and turned the ball over a lot in the last qtr.

Just don't think any of the listed players will be promoted from this game. They all did a bit but not enough. Smith, Busslinger and Baker were probably the best but all had flaws in their game which was disappointing.
Busslinger has 3rd tall defender potential for AFL level but not key position IMO, but there could be further improvement there. He's still an enigma in my eyes.
Smith tries so hard in ruck and ground level but he got worn down by bigger bodies and gave away several frees.
A Jones does a few classy things but never enough. Playing out his contract now.
Scott had a very good second half but there's no position vacant at AFL level now for him.
Croft struggled as a deep forward and then as a winger in the 2nd half.
Jacques showed a lot of calmness and skill, particularly in the 1st half. Keep a watch on him.
Kennedy was injured and didn't play in the 2nd half.
Perhaps Poulter is the one who could push for a half forward role particularly if Hynes or Dolan have poor games tonight.
The better side won today and we can blame a poor start when we were slow to adapt for whatever reasons.

To me his disposal is his biggest deficiency. He either needs to clean up his disposal significantly or shift his focus more towards being a genuine lockdown type.

Interesting, I thought he was well beaten today.
10 more disposals and 6 more hitouts than Boyd who was in there most of the time

Heath at FF did better on him when he was tired but in the battle of the first rucks no contest which was what a lot needed to see against the reigning Magarie medalist

Smith was absolutely more influential than Boyd.

Has to be able to defend and take contested marks.

We would've known this when we drafted him so high because he spent his under 18s year playing as the loose intercept defender. I really hope I'm wrong but I'm not as optimistic as others
