Is Captain Concrete hands Tom Campbell on Melbournes main list?

Amazing if true.

Yep. Gawn's backup.
Certainly is

Amazing.

It shows how little regard clubs have for backup ruckman and the premium clubs place on list places in the modern game.

It also shows that being a journeyman plodder beats working for a living.

Good for him.

Ryan Gardner channelling Brian Lake back there. Don't think I've ever seen him as solid

Only saw a small amount of the last quarter. Could someone kindly give me a summary of Luke Kennedy, Duryea, & Coffield please? Cheers in advance 👍

Mirror of the 2021 GF. Demons cruising and 26 points up 20 minutes into the third quarter. Dogs kick the next 8.

Small consolation and lower level comp I know, but what better side to do it against.

The AFL listed players lifted in the last quarter and a half and we increased our pressure around the stoppages so Casey couldn't get loose men on the outside. I've been emphasising this for a few years now: Stuart Edge must be the best of the VFL coaches, he motivates the team to really work hard no matter who is in the side and his tactics tend to wear down opposition teams.
Listed players:
Kennedy - built his game nicely and has great positioning both on the ball and when resting half forward. Kicked 3 goals as a bonus.
Gardner: played like Kelvin Moore in the 2nd half, intercepting everything. Still gives me jitters with ball in hand.
Duryea: turned the ball over a few times but mopped up countless opposition forward entries.
Coffield: also turned the ball over but otherwise solid as an interceptor
Dolan: a bit scrappy today but had a few good moments.
Jacques: found the pace of the game difficult and got caught a few times. Needs to add body strength to take the next step.
Hynes: was handy in the last quarter with a few very good entries. I think he needs to be more energetic and attack the ball more confidently.
Smith: battled strongly against an octogenarian and was influential as the latter tired ready for his afternoon nap.

Also may I add that is one of the first games I've seen where Jones stayed involved in the game throughout and not really fade out at all.
Commentators were calling it an almost game for him. I wonder if he has a break out game coming up or he could find himself on the cut list at seasons end.

Pretty good summary of both the game and the AFL listed players, also noting they were also a weakened team.

Someone mentioned earlier in the year Kennedy lacks AFL traits, whatever they are. Of last years draft he is closer to being in the AFL team than all of the others. Much more damaging in the second half with the football which he also gets alot of.

Hynes is a fair way off getting back, just needs plenty of game time and development.

Besides anything else, Dolan just needs to get more of the football.

Agree with the summation of Jacques, would also like to see a better ball drop for a defender.

Smith developing nicely. Would like to see a few more marks and be involved more in ball movement from the backline if he is to succeed at AFL level.

As for established players, yep agree

Feels like he's had an almost career, full of almost games. I've just about given up on him having a breakout game , one that he really puts his stamp on. Even in the VFL. He has moments but not whole games.

It's a shame. I would love him to succeed but I'm not seeing it.
Anyway it's pleasing to read that Wizard17 thought he stayed in the play a lot more today (I didn't watch all of today's game so appreciate the comments of those who did).

Accurate description of his game. Personally cannot see him on the list next year as he is not close to pushing for an AFL game again.

Hope he proves me wrong as his attitude is first class

At the game, thought best afl were :- Gardiner ( very good game), arty jones ( showed flashes of brilliance) , doc duryea ( solid made a lot more foot errors than I expected ), Scott ( nice first half ), smith battled but beaten in ruck, the others need a lot more footy as I didn’t think they stood out much.

You didn't rate Kennedy's game? He had close to 30 possessions, kicked 3 goals and seemed pretty busy from what I saw of it.
