Interesting that the match review article on the Bulldogs club website mentioned the following in its review of the second quarter:-

Footscray’s midfield led by Cooper Hynes and Jed Busslinger dominated the game

Just wondering if Buss spent considerable time in the ruck ( I am assuming he was not tried as an inside mid) and how others thought he performed in the role

I didn't watch all of the game but I don't recall Buss in the ruck at all? I think more likely an error on the report.

I think it's just poorly phrased. Footscray's midfield led by Cooper Hynes AND Jed Busslinger dominated the game. So it's supposed to be two entities but they bottled it.

The Footscray Bulldogs have made five changes ahead of Saturday's Smithy's VFL clash with Coburg at Barry Plant Park.

VFL-listed ruck/forward Cameron Owen comes in for his first match of the season after being sidelined due to injury.
The 203cm Tasmanian utility made 10 appearances in his inaugural campaign for the 'Scray after spending a season on the Sydney Swans' rookie list.

and VFL duo Luca Moratore and Diesel Moloney have also been named for Saturday's clash.

The quintet of Dogs come into the side in place of Ryan Gardner (AFL), Josh Dolan (AFL), Anthony Scott (injured), Phoenix Spicer (injured), and Matthew Belbasis (omitted).

Saturday's match will be the first between the Bulldogs and Lions since round 15, 2021, and the first clash between the two sides held at Barry Plant Park (Coburg City Oval) since round 11, 2018.

Both teams have secured five wins in the first 10 rounds of the 2025 Smithy's VFL Season, though Footscray's two byes sees them enter Round 11 with a stronger, 5-3, record.

The first bounce will be at 1:05pm AEST on Saturday 7 June, and be live-streamed free via the AFL website and AFL Live Official app.
