I think Hynes might have just rolled / sprain an ankle, believe he had it iced up after the game so hopefully just minor and ok for next week.

Vision from the stream wasn't super clear, so if it is a rolled ankle hope it's only minor and is good to go next week.

He's certainly a better option than Gardner. The only question I have is whether he is strong enough in 1 on 1s with bigger, stronger opponents at the higher level. Unless we play him we will never know.

any 1 on 1s did Gardy win on Thursday night? Every player he went 1-1 with kicked a goal

Umpires seemed better in this game than normal imho. Makes a huge difference to game experience.

Yep impressive game from him. TO be clear also I was just guessing from grainy vision also so will see if he's on the injury report at all...

I'd rather Gallagher play as our small lock-down defender at VFL level as that is the role that he could much more easily get a run at in the seniors. Give him the best small / medium forward each work to shut down and see if he can provide a bit of run and carry while doing it. A good block of form doing this and he could absolutely be called up in place of Cleary / Bramble etc.

His disposal and habbit of running straight into opposition pressure worries me to much coming out of the backline. I suppose if he was purely defensive focused and Handballs to Dale at every opportunity it may work.

Michael Sellwood will make his red, white and blue debut after being taken in the 2025 Mid-Season Rookie Draft.


Riley Garcia has also been included following a lengthy injury layoff, while Anthony Scott, Ryan Gardner and Connor Smith have also been named.

They come in at the expense of Cooper Hynes, Matt Belbasis, Ethan Hunt, Diesel Moloney and Tristan Maple.

The Dogs will be looking to record its third straight win when they meet Frankston at Kinetic Stadium tomorrow night.

The first bounce will be at 7:35pm AEST and be live-streamed free via the AFL website and AFL Live Official app.
