Yes I’ve liked him since he had to take on more of the ruck role lately. Often beaten by the other ruckman (in earlier games) due to his poor body work but continued to put in and contest. Seems to have lifted his confidence. Not sure he will make it at afl, but still a work in progress.I think people have been too quick fo write off Ryan
He’s a poor man’s 4th div seconds player. I’d be surprised if anyone disagrees.Well he pretty consistently has a lot of shots on goal in the VFL, he won't improve our goal accuracy though. He pretty hard to defend as well
Biggest disappointment is he doesn't offer anything in the ruck so probably limits himself to be a poor man's hipwood
sat out the whole last quarterHas Gallop been on the field this quarter?
Might be a sneaky chance to come into seniors then.sat out the whole last quarter
McLachlan plays more like a third tall. He is not a pressure forward.Saw McLachlan kicked 6 but laid a grand total of 0 tackles. Are our small forwards just immune to it maybe?
So wouldn’t be a direct swap for Charlie, maybe more so Kai?McLachlan plays more like a third tall. He is not a pressure forward.

Can't ruck and in my limited viewing I felt he is physically limited so will struggle to hold his ground and take a contested grab. He's a medium build floater (let's say like Gunston) then he has to be a sharp shooter who's both efficient in conversion and smart in his leading patterns. Or has a bigger tank to lead up n down to wing to provide relief mark on lead. I don't see any of it with him.
I don't think he's a chance to replace Charlie (or Kai) this week against Geelong. Though if either of them have another down performance and McLachlan kicks goals again next week, then he would have to be in the seniors post-bye.Maybe he needs to kick 8 to be considered over Charlie next week
Kai but doesn’t have the defensive pressure that Kai showed when in form.So wouldn’t be a direct swap for Charlie, maybe more so Kai?

Gardiner for Payne, can't think of anyone else Ty could potentially replace unless we are going to leave Hipwood down back and omit someone else from the backline.
If I had to guess I would say it was normal load management though and he wont be playing seniors on Friday night.
He rarely, if ever, sends a message through selection but we are not privy to his conversations with players behind closed doors.Of course he can do whatever he wants. I'm not passing judgement, just making a statement of facts. Fagan never wants to send a message.

Two things we know about Fages:
1. He rarely uses selection when players are out of form and almost always backs his best 22 players to the hilt.
2. He never ever vents on his players or the team through the media. His playbook response to questions about the poor performance of someone like Charlie is "...I would need to go back and look at the tape before I responded to that question"
He is the consummate relationships coach and hence the loyalty from players back to him and our amazing player retention history since he arrived.
My only recollection of Fages relegating "best 22 players" in recent times was with Rich and Gunston. Both were dreadfully out of form and even then he sort of "soft" dropped them back to a "training block".

If it's generated by ChatGPT, can it really be considered journalism? Those around the State League reports really are a bunch of garbage, all it is is a regurgitation of stats you can get on afl.com, it has no relevance to who actually played well and who did not... lazy "journalism".
